A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 71-13-12-010-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.

C. Make sure that the anchorage bracket (2) has no damage.
Subtask 71-13-12-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL D. Install these parts to the replacement hold open rod
(1) Install the anchorage bracket (2) to the replacement hold open rod and attach with the washer (4) and the nut (5).
(2) TORQUE the nut to between 132 and 108 lbf.in (1.49 and 1.22 m.daN )

Subtask 71-13-12-110-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the anchorage bracket (2) to the replacement hold open rod and attach with the washer (4) and the nut (5).
(2) TORQUE the nut to between 132 and 108 lbf.in (1.49 and 1.22 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013)NOTE: Hold the forked end of the hold open rod while the nut is tightened.
E. Removal of the jointing compound
(a) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with theV01-076 Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade to remove the used jointing compound from:
1 The anchorage bracket (2).
2 The bolts (6).
3 The fan cowl.
(b) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to make the above items dry.
4. ProcedureWARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
(1) Remove the jointing compound. (a) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with the

(b) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to make the above items dry.
Subtask 71-13-12-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Install the hold open rod.
(1) Apply the jointing compound (Material No.V04-005) to the mating surfaces of the anchorage bracket (2).
(2) Apply the jointing compound (Material No.V04-005) below the bolt head (6) and assemble while still wet.
(3) Put the hold open rod (1) on to the fan cowl and attach with the washers (7) and the nuts (3).
(4) TORQUE the nuts to between 33 and 27 lbf.in (0.37 and 0.31 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(5) Wipe off the unwanted jointing compound with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
5. Close-up(1) Apply the jointing compound (Material No.V04-005) to the mating surfaces of the anchorage bracket (2).
(2) Apply the jointing compound (Material No.V04-005) below the bolt head (6) and assemble while still wet.
(3) Put the hold open rod (1) on to the fan cowl and attach with the washers (7) and the nuts (3).
(4) TORQUE the nuts to between 33 and 27 lbf.in (0.37 and 0.31 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (5) Wipe off the unwanted jointing compound with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
