(2) Remove the nut (5), the two washers (4), the bushing (3) and the bolt (2) that attach the forward HOR (1) to the fan cowl door.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position.

WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FAN COWL DOOR IS SUFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED DURING REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION. THE FAN COWL DOOR WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 100 LBS (45.5 KG). IF IT IS NOT SUFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED, INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.
A. Removal of the Forward Fan Cowl Door Hold Open Rods (HOR) NOTE: There is one forward HOR on each fan cowl door. This procedure is for the removal of the forward HOR from the left fan cowl door. The procedure for the removal of the forward HOR from the right fan cowl door is the same.
(1) Remove the nut (9), washer (8), bushing (7) and bolt (6) that attach the forward HOR (1) to the engine case. (2) Remove the nut (5), the two washers (4), the bushing (3) and the bolt (2) that attach the forward HOR (1) to the fan cowl door.
(3) Remove the forward HOR (1) from the fan cowl door and the engine case.
(4) Installation of protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
