Subtask 71-13-01-941-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
   (2) On panel 22VU, make sure that the ON legend of the MAN START pushbutton switch is off.
   (3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the MAN START pushbutton switch.
   (4) On panel 30VU, make sure that the ON legend of the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is off.
   (5) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the APU BLEED pushbutton switch.
   (6) Make sure that no pneumatic ground cart is connected.

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
437AL, 438AR.
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
447AL, 448AR.
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 71-13-01-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Fan Cowl Hinge Beam
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE FAN COWL DOOR IS SUFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED DURING REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION. THE FAN COWL DOOR WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 100 LBS (45.5 KG). IF IT IS NOT SUFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED, INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.
   (1) Remove the nut (1) and the washer (2) from the hinge beam assembly (3) and the forward hinge on the left fan cowl door.
   (2) Install the 636GSE2006-901 FC HINGE BOLT THREAD PROTECTORS on the thread of the bolt (4). Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
   (3) Remove the bolt (4) from the hinge beam assembly (3) and the forward hinge on the left fan cowl door.
     (a) If you cannot remove the bolt (4) easily from the hinge and hinge beam assembly (3), carefully use the PUNCH - FLAT-END and the HAMMER - SLIDE, PULLER, STANDARD to remove it.
   (4) Remove the nut (1) and the washer (2) from the hinge beam assembly (3) and the forward hinge on the right fan cowl door.
   (5) Install the 636GSE2006-901 FC HINGE BOLT THREAD PROTECTORS on the thread of the bolt (4). Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
   (6) Remove the bolt (4) from the hinge beam assembly (3) and the forward hinge on the right fan cowl door.
     (a) If you cannot remove the bolt (4) easily from the hinge and hinge beam assembly (3), carefully use the PUNCH - FLAT-END and the HAMMER - SLIDE, PULLER, STANDARD to remove it.
   (7) Remove the hinge beam assembly (3) from between the engine and the pylon.
   (8) Remove the 636GSE2006-901 FC HINGE BOLT THREAD PROTECTORS from the thread of the bolts (4). Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
   (9) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install the COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
