WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.

A. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) The start procedure can be manually stopped at any time as follows:
NOTE: During the automatic start procedure, the automatic abort feature is active only when the starter is engaged. The starter cutout speed varies as a function of ambient temperature. The N2 speed is 47% at T2= -40 deg.F (-40.00 deg.C) and 54% at T2= 86 deg.F (30.00 deg.C). When N2 speed is above these values, you must manually discontinue the engine start.
     (a) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
       1 Put the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch to the OFF position.
       2 Put the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) On the ENG section of the overhead control and indicating panel 22VU:
       1 Put the MAN START 1(2) switch in the OFF position.
     (c) N1 and N2 rotor speeds will decrease the zero (0 RPM).
     (d) Dry motor the engine for 30 seconds or more with the starter to remove the remaining fuel (fuel that has not burned) from the burner and turbines and to decrease the Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) is necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-817).
     (e) Stop the dry motoring (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-817).
