1. Reason for the Job
Use this procedure when it is necessary to stop an engine start in the manual mode.

CAUTION: BE PREPARED TO DRY MOTOR THE ENGINE IF THE EGT DOES NOT DECREASE. DRY MOTORING THE ENGINE CAN PREVENT A FIRE AFTER SHUTDOWN.
A. Do this procedure:

RESULT
1.On the ENG panel 115VU:
  • Set the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch to OFF.

2.On the overhead CTL & IND panel 22VU:
  • Release the ENG/MAN START/1(2) pushbutton switch.
  • The ON legend of this pushbutton switch goes off.
3.On the ENG panel 115VU:
  • Set the ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN/START selector switch to CRANK.

4.On the upper ECAM display unit:
  • Carefully monitor the EGT, N2 and FUEL FLOW.

5.After the shutdown of the engine, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • Set the ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN/START selector switch to NORM.
NOTE: If a fire after shutdown occurs, dry motor the engine with the starter. To do this select the ENG/MAN START/1(2) pushbutton switch ON immediately when N2 is below 20 percent.
NOTE: Dry motor the engine before you try again to do a start. To do this select the ENG/MAN START/1(2) pushbutton switch ON. This is necessary to dry the combustor of fuel that can stay in it. Make sure that the fuel boost pump is off.
