A. Solution Code 181 Engine Gas Path Cleaning Solution
   (1) Potable water quality specifications:
     (a) Water for engine gaspath cleaning must agree with local quality specifications for potable water and with these quality specifications:
1 If a property limit in the local quality specifications for potable water does not agree with the limit in the quality specifications that follow, the limit in the quality specifications that follow is applicable.

   (3) Make-up of the solution:
NOTE: It is necessary to start the compressor wash in one hour or less after the make-up of the solution is completed.
     (a) Prepare 20 USgal (80 l) to 30 USgal (110 l) of wash fluid.
1 For compressor washing fluids that Step 4.A.(2) specifies to use at 100 percent by volume, fill the applicable gaspath/compressor cleaning cart with the necessary volume of compressor washing fluid.
2 For compressor washing fluids that Step 4.A.(2) specifies to mix with potable water, mix the necessary volumes of compressor washing fluid and potable water in the applicable gaspath/compressor cleaning cart. Refer to Step 4.A.(1) for potable water quality specifications
     (b) If the ambient temperature is below 40 deg.F (4.4 deg.C), it is permitted to mix the solution with V01-124Isopropyl Alcohol, Technical grade to prevent icing in accordance with the Engine Manual or Aircraft Maintenance Manual instructions.
     (c) Use the solution at ambient temperature unless the compressor washing fluid manufacturer's instructions specify differently.
