Installation of the Access Panels

  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

   (1) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) is in position below the applicable access panel.

A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) to the interface of the aircraft structure.
   (4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the Access Panels 590AB(690AB), 590BB(690BB)
   (1) For the panel 590AB(690AB):
     (a) Hold the access panel (1) in position and install the bolts (2).
     (b) TORQUE the bolts (2) to between 0.45 and 0.40 m.daN (39.82 and 35.40 lbf.in ) T.
     (c) Make sure that the access panel (1) is correctly aligned with the adjacent panels.
   (2) For the panel 590BB(690BB):
     (a) Hold the access panel (3) in position and install the bolts (4).
     (b) TORQUE the bolts (4) to between 0.45 and 0.40 m.daN (39.82 and 35.40 lbf.in )

     (c) Make sure that the access panel (3) is correctly aligned with the adjacent panels.
