Installation of the Access Door

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

   (1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the flaps are fully retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
   (2) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position below the applicable access door 574BB(674BB).

4. Procedure
Subtask 57-51-37-420-064-A
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the Access Door 574BB(674BB)
NOTE: The access door (2) is attached to the wing skin with two different lengths of screw. Make sure that the correct screws are installed in their correct position.
   (1) Hold the access door (2) in position and install the nuts (4) and the bolts (1) to the hinge.
   (2) Carefully close the access door (2) and loosely install the screws in their correct position as follows:
  • the seven screws (3)
  • the screw (5).
   (3) Set the access door (2) so that:
  • dimension X is 1.5 mm (0.0591 in.) +/- 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.) all around apart from on the hinge side.
   (4) Tighten the screws (3) and (5) gradually.

B. Installation of the Access Door 574BB(674BB)
NOTE: The access panel (1) is attached to the wing skin with three different lengths of screw. Make sure that the correct screws are installed in their correct positions.
   (1) Hold the access door (1) in position.
   (2) Loosely install the screws in their correct position as follows:
  • the seven screws (2)
  • the two screws (3)
  • the screw (4).
   (3) Set the access door (1) so that dimension X is 1.5 mm (0.0591 in.) +/- 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.) all around.
   (4) Tighten the screws (2), (3) and (4) gradually.

   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
