  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (3) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.

   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable wing at the false rear spar, zone 570(670).
   (2) Remove the access panels:

CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the lower flange of the false rear spar forward face (RIB7 thru RIB9).

B. Detailed Inspection of Outer Wing, False Rear Spar, Forward Face, Lower Flange, between Rib 7 and Rib 9
   (1) Use a FLASHLIGHT and an MIRROR - INSPECTION and make a detailed visual inspection of the lower flange of the false rear spar forward face (RIB7 thru RIB9). Make sure that:
  • there is no damage
  • there are no cracks and/or scores
  • there is no corrosion
  • the surface protection is in the correct condition
  • no water has entered the wing structure.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 575100 for the correct repair procedure.

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the access panels:

   (1) Remove the access platform(s).
   (2) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the safety barriers.
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
