A. Safety Precautions
(1) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(3) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(4) Install the wing safety rope (Ref. AMM TASK 12-00-00-481-002).

B. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable zone 500(600).

A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , to clean the applicable inspection area.

B. Detailed Inspection of Outer Wing, Top Skin, Upper Surface at Attachments to RIBs and Stringers between RIB 8 and RIB 27 from Front Spar to Rear Spar
(1) Do a detail inspection and make sure that:

There is no corrosion
There is no damage
There are no dents, burrs, scores or scratches
The rivets and fasteners are in the correct condition
The surface protection is not damaged or loose.

NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.

5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the wing safety rope (Ref. AMM TASK 12-00-00-481-002).
(2) Remove the safety barriers.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
