3. Job Set-up
Subtask 57-21-00-941-093-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (2) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002) or the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position below zone 500(600).
   (5) Install the wing safety rope (Ref. AMM TASK 12-00-00-481-002).
4. Procedure
Subtask 57-21-00-110-084-A
A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean:
  • The wing top-skin between the front spar and the rear spar from RIB8 to RIB22.

B. General Visual Inspection of the Outer Wing, Top Skin, Upper Surface at Attachment to Front Spar and Rear Spar, Between RIB8 and RIB22
   (1) Inspect the wing top-skin at the locations where the skin is attached to the front spar and the rear spar. Make sure that:
  • There is no corrosion
  • There are no cracks, dents, burrs, scores or scratches
  • The fasteners are in the correct condition
  • The surface protection is not damaged or loose.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.
5. Close-up

A. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the wing safety rope (Ref. AMM TASK 12-00-00-481-002).
   (2) Remove the safety barriers.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002) or the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
   (5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
