A. Safety Precautions
(1) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(3) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the wing fuel tank, zones 540 (640) and 550 (650).
4. Procedure(1) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(3) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the wing fuel tank, zones 540 (640) and 550 (650).

A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , to clean the lower surface of the bottom skin at:
Subtask 57-21-00-210-078-A (1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , to clean the lower surface of the bottom skin at:
- the drain holes for track cans 5 thru 12 (rib bays 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 16-17, 18-19, 21-22, 23-24 and 25-26).
- the dry bay drain holes in rib bay 26-27.
- the MLI positions adjacent to RIB9 and RIB12.
B. Inspection
(1) Examine the bottom skin at the drain holes for track cans 5 thru 12 (rib bays 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 16-17, 18-19, 21-22, 23-24, and 25-26), and the dry bay drain holes (rib bay 26-27) and the MLI positions adjacent to RIB9 and RIB12. Make sure that:
5. Close-up(1) Examine the bottom skin at the drain holes for track cans 5 thru 12 (rib bays 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 16-17, 18-19, 21-22, 23-24, and 25-26), and the dry bay drain holes (rib bay 26-27) and the MLI positions adjacent to RIB9 and RIB12. Make sure that:
- there is no corrosion or damage
- there are no scratches or scores
- there are no loose or damaged fasteners
- the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.

A. Removal of Equipment
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the safety barriers.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the safety barriers.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
