WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

CAUTION: DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACES. THE COMPONENTS ARE MADE OF CARBONFIBER REINFORCED PLASTIC.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 55-24-11-860-052-A

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27903500000 PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING is in the CAPT and F/O side stick controllers.
(3) Make sure that the 98D27309001000 NEUTRAL SETTING TOOL - ELEVATOR are installed on the elevator.
(4) Make sure that the warning notices are in the flight compartment to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
(5) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to operate the hydraulic systems.
(6) Make sure that the access platforms are in position at zone 335 and/or zone 345.

4. Procedure
Subtask 55-24-11-140-050-A

A. Cleaning
(1) Remove the old sealant from the mating surfaces of the tips and the elevator end caps. Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.

B. Visual Inspection
(1) Make sure that the related anchor nuts at the elevator end ribs are in a good condition.
(2) Examine the removed static dischargers for good condition.

C. Cleaning
(1) Clean the mating surfaces with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Naphta based and Alcohol - (Material No.08BBC1) .
