Removal of the Support Strut
NOTE: Applicable to FR50 and FR51, FR56 and FR57, FR61 and FR62 left side and the partition center support strut at FR65.

A. Get Access
(1) Open the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(3) Remove the left sidewall linings (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-003).
(4) Remove the partition panels 161DW 162DW at FR65 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
(5) Remove the sealant from around the attach area of the support struts (1) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
Subtask 53-43-11-010-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Open the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(3) Remove the left sidewall linings (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-003).
(4) Remove the partition panels 161DW 162DW at FR65 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
(5) Remove the sealant from around the attach area of the support struts (1) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
A. Get Access
(1) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(3) If applicable, remove the left sidewall linings (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-003) as necessary.
(4) At FR65, if applicable, remove partition panels 161DW and 162DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(3) If applicable, remove the left sidewall linings (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-003) as necessary.
(4) At FR65, if applicable, remove partition panels 161DW and 162DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
Subtask 53-43-11-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal the support struts:
(1) Remove all attach items from the support struts (1).
(2) Remove and discard the screws (3), the bolts (4), the nuts (5) and the washers (6).
(3) Remove the support struts (1).
(4) Remove the quick release pins (7) from the support struts (2).
(5) Remove the support struts (2).
Subtask 53-43-11-020-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove all attach items from the support struts (1).
(2) Remove and discard the screws (3), the bolts (4), the nuts (5) and the washers (6).
(3) Remove the support struts (1).
(4) Remove the quick release pins (7) from the support struts (2).
(5) Remove the support struts (2).
A. Removal of the Support Strut
(1) For the strut (12):
(a) Remove the screw (20) and the washer (21) and disconnect the bonding strap (22).
(b) Remove the nuts (16), the washers (14) and the bolts (13).
(c) Remove the nuts (11), the washers (18) and the screws (17).
(d) Remove the nuts (7), the washers (8) and (9), and the bolts (10).
(e) Remove the support strut (12).
(2) For the strut (5):
(a) Remove the sealant from the heads of the bolts (6), the nuts (4) and the attachment area of the support strut (5) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(b) If applicable, remove all the attached items from the support strut (5).
(c) Remove the screw (1) and the washer (2).
(d) Remove the nuts (4), the bolts (6) and the washers (3).
(e) Remove the support strut (5).
(1) For the strut (12):
(a) Remove the screw (20) and the washer (21) and disconnect the bonding strap (22).
(b) Remove the nuts (16), the washers (14) and the bolts (13).
(c) Remove the nuts (11), the washers (18) and the screws (17).
(d) Remove the nuts (7), the washers (8) and (9), and the bolts (10).
(e) Remove the support strut (12).
(2) For the strut (5):
(a) Remove the sealant from the heads of the bolts (6), the nuts (4) and the attachment area of the support strut (5) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(b) If applicable, remove all the attached items from the support strut (5).
(c) Remove the screw (1) and the washer (2).
(d) Remove the nuts (4), the bolts (6) and the washers (3).
(e) Remove the support strut (5).
Removable Support Struts
