Removal of the Proximity Switch

B. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the Bulk cargo-compartment door.
(2) Open the Bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
(3) Remove the protection cover (12) as follows:
(a) Remove the screws (14) and the washers (13) from the protection cover (12).
(b) Remove the protection cover (12) from the Bulk door frame.
(c) Remove the plate (11) and the gasket (10) from the floor panel 162KF.
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the Bulk cargo-compartment door.
(2) Open the Bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
(3) Remove the protection cover (12) as follows:
(a) Remove the screws (14) and the washers (13) from the protection cover (12).
(b) Remove the protection cover (12) from the Bulk door frame.
(c) Remove the plate (11) and the gasket (10) from the floor panel 162KF.

A. Removal of the Proximity Switch
(1) Remove the proximity sensor (2) as follows:
(b) Put CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connector (1) and on the proximity sensor (2).
(c) Disconnect the lockwire and remove the lock nut (8) and the lock washer (9) from the proximity sensor (2).
(d) Remove the proximity sensor (2) from the latch spigot bracket (3).
(2) Remove the proximity target (7) as follows:
(a) Release the tab washer (5) from the roller lever (4).
(b) Remove the lock nut (6) and the tab washer (5) from the proximity target (7). Discard the tab washer (5).
(c) Remove the proximity target (7) from the roller lever (4).
(1) Remove the proximity sensor (2) as follows:
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Disconnect the connector (1) of the cable loom from the proximity sensor (2). (b) Put CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connector (1) and on the proximity sensor (2).
(c) Disconnect the lockwire and remove the lock nut (8) and the lock washer (9) from the proximity sensor (2).
(d) Remove the proximity sensor (2) from the latch spigot bracket (3).
(2) Remove the proximity target (7) as follows:
(a) Release the tab washer (5) from the roller lever (4).
(b) Remove the lock nut (6) and the tab washer (5) from the proximity target (7). Discard the tab washer (5).
(c) Remove the proximity target (7) from the roller lever (4).
