A. Repair of Dents
(1) Measure the depth of the dent.
(2) Refer to the ASRM SRM 517300 and the applicable ASRM-chapter 52 thru 57 for the permitted limits of the dent.
(3) If a repair of the dent is necessary:
(a) Remove all of the paint from the area of the dent and 10 mm (0.3937 in.) around the dent with CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 240).
(b) Clean the repair area with the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a clean lint-free cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1)
(4) Apply masking paper and masking tape to the area around the dent.
(5) Fill the dent:
(a) Mix the necessary quantity of the Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Core Restoration - (Material No.13FBC6) .
(b) Apply the Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Core Restoration - (Material No.13FBC6) to the repair area with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
(6) Make sure that the area is dry before you continue with the steps that follow.
(7) Smooth the Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Core Restoration - (Material No.13FBC6) to the contours of the component with CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 240).
(8) Smooth the Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Core Restoration - (Material No.13FBC6) to the contours of the component with CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 400).
(9) Apply the applicable surface protection (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-12-300-001).
5. Close-up(1) Measure the depth of the dent.
(2) Refer to the ASRM SRM 517300 and the applicable ASRM-chapter 52 thru 57 for the permitted limits of the dent.
(3) If a repair of the dent is necessary:
(a) Remove all of the paint from the area of the dent and 10 mm (0.3937 in.) around the dent with CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 240).
(b) Clean the repair area with the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a clean lint-free cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1)
(4) Apply masking paper and masking tape to the area around the dent.
(5) Fill the dent:
(a) Mix the necessary quantity of the Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Core Restoration - (Material No.13FBC6) .
(b) Apply the Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Core Restoration - (Material No.13FBC6) to the repair area with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
(6) Make sure that the area is dry before you continue with the steps that follow.
(7) Smooth the Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Core Restoration - (Material No.13FBC6) to the contours of the component with CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 240).
(8) Smooth the Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Core Restoration - (Material No.13FBC6) to the contours of the component with CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 400).
(9) Apply the applicable surface protection (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-12-300-001).
