A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position.
   (4) Make sure that the FWD cargo-compartment door is open and safetied (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (5) Make sure that access panel 132PW is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 38-42-51-420-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Compressor 8MD
   (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Lower the compressor (4) in to position on the ground plate (8).
   (4) Put the bonding strap (3) and the washers (2) in position.
   (5) Install the bolts (7) and the nuts (1) to secure the compressor (4) in position.
   (6) Apply protective coating to the bonding strap (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (7) Remove the blanking plug from the pipe-connection (6) and connect it to the compressor (4).
   (8) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (9) Connect the electrical connector (5) to the compressor (4).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Preparation for Test
   (1) Fill the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).

D. Do the operational test of the compressor (Ref. AMM TASK 38-42-00-710-001).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install access panel 162DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
   (3) Set cargo-compartment light switch 8LU to OFF.
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-004).

B. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits. (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002)
