Removal of the Intermediate-Pressure Bleed Check-Valve for Detailed Inspection

MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Cleaning of the IP Bleed Check-Valve
(1) Clean the IP bleed check-valve with a Textile-Lint free Cotton (Material No.CPNCL02069) , moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner- Petroleum Based (Material No.CPNCL01525) .
(2) Dry the IP bleed check-valve with a Textile-Lint free Cotton (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
Subtask 36-11-41-210-064-A (1) Clean the IP bleed check-valve with a Textile-Lint free Cotton (Material No.CPNCL02069) , moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner- Petroleum Based (Material No.CPNCL01525) .
(2) Dry the IP bleed check-valve with a Textile-Lint free Cotton (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
B. Inspection of the IP Bleed Check-Valve
(1) Examine the check valve for damage.
(a) Do a check for scratches or gouges. Use a MICROMETER - DEPTH to do this check.
1 If you find scratches or gouges with a depth of more than 0.13 mm (0.005 in.) on the check-valve seal faces, replace the IP bleed check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-400-803).
(b) If you find cracks, bosses, dents, corrosion or frictional wear on the valve, replace the IP bleed check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-400-803).
(c) Do a check of the axial clearance between the flapper door bushing and the valve body:
1 The maximum permitted axial clearance is 1.52 mm (0.060 in.).
2 Make sure that you cannot see any space between the doors and the seat in the closed position.
3 Signs of wear or chafing on the valve body at the specified locations are not permitted.
(e) Make sure that the flappers close fully by their weight.
(f) Do a check of the valve-body door stops:
1 The minimum permitted width of the door stop is 13.6 mm (0.535 in.).
1 Wear of any depth is permitted.
(2) Do a detailed inspection of the IP bleed check-valve.
(a) If you find missing parts:
5. Close-up(1) Examine the check valve for damage.
(a) Do a check for scratches or gouges. Use a MICROMETER - DEPTH to do this check.
1 If you find scratches or gouges with a depth of more than 0.13 mm (0.005 in.) on the check-valve seal faces, replace the IP bleed check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-400-803).
(b) If you find cracks, bosses, dents, corrosion or frictional wear on the valve, replace the IP bleed check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-400-803).
(c) Do a check of the axial clearance between the flapper door bushing and the valve body:
1 The maximum permitted axial clearance is 1.52 mm (0.060 in.).
2 Make sure that you cannot see any space between the doors and the seat in the closed position.
3 Signs of wear or chafing on the valve body at the specified locations are not permitted.
NOTE: If any of the above condition is more than the permitted limits, you can contact Safran Nacelles.
(d) Make sure that the flappers move freely to the closed position. (e) Make sure that the flappers close fully by their weight.
(f) Do a check of the valve-body door stops:
1 The minimum permitted width of the door stop is 13.6 mm (0.535 in.).
NOTE: If the width is less than the minimum permitted, you can contact Safran Nacelles.
(g) Do a check of the flapper door stops: 1 Wear of any depth is permitted.
(2) Do a detailed inspection of the IP bleed check-valve.
(a) If you find missing parts:
- Replace the IP bleed check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-400-803).
