3. Job Set-up
Subtask 36-11-41-010-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Remove the IP bleed check valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-000-010).
4. Procedure
Subtask 36-11-41-110-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Clean the IP Bleed Check Valve
   (1) Clean the check valve with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , moist with cleaning fluid (Material No.V01-002) .
   (2) Dry the check valve with a clean lint-free cloth.
Subtask 36-11-41-210-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Inspection of the IP Bleed Check-Valve
   (1) Do the inspection of the IP bleed check-valve that has the return spring(s) as follows:
     (a) Examine the valve for damage as follows:
1 If you find scratches or gouges with a depth of more than 0.25 mm (0.01 in.) on the valve seal faces, reject the seal.
2 If the valve has cracks, reject the valve.
     (b) Put the flappers in the open position and do the steps that follows:
1 Install the end of the GAGE - SPRING on the middle point of the rim of the flapper.
2 Apply a force of 0 lbf (0 daN) to 1.34 lbf (0.60 daN) through a displacement angle of 0 deg (0 deg) to 20 deg (20 deg) on the flappers.
3 Make sure that the flappers move to the closed position:
  • If the flappers do not move to the closed position with their weight, reject the valve.
   (2) Do the inspection of the IP bleed check-valve that has no return spring as follows:
     (a) Examine the valve for damage as follows:
1 If you find scratches or gouges with a depth of more than 0.25 mm (0.01 in.) on the valve seal faces, reject the seal.
2 If you find cracks on the valve, reject the valve.
3 Make sure that the flappers move freely to the closed position.
4 Make sure that the flappers close fully by their weight.
     (b) Do a detailed inspection of the IP bleed check-valve as follows:
1 If you find missing parts:
  • Replace the IP bleed check-valve and do an inspection of the hot-air inlet manifold of the engine bleed pre-cooler.
2 If you do not find missing parts:
  • Use the GAGE - 1,2 MM (0,047) - FEELER and make sure that clearance A between the bushings of the flap (1) and the bushing (2) is less than 1.2 mm (0.05 in.).
NOTE: On in-service aircraft, the bushings become worn because of cycles and vibration. A clearance of less than 1.2 mm (0.05 in.) prevents too much wear on the bushings before the next check.
  • If clearance A between the bushings of the flap (1) and the bushing (2) is not in the limit, replace the IP bleed check-valve.
5. Close-up
Subtask 36-11-41-410-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Install the IP bleed check valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-400-010).
