Replacement of the Lamp in the Taxi Light

WARNING: WEAR GLASSES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE LIGHT. THE LAMP IS PRESSURIZED AND AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR.
WARNING: DO NOT DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS FOR AT LEAST 2 MINUTES AFTER YOU DE-ENERGIZE THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS.
CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS WITH YOUR FINGERS. THE OILS FROM YOUR SKIN WILL QUICKLY CAUSE DETERIORATION OF THE LAMP. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS, CLEAN IT WITH A LINT-FREE CLOTH.
NOTE: This procedure is only applicable for halogen-bulb taxi lights.

4. Procedure
Subtask 33-46-12-020-054-C
A. Removal of the Lamp
F Lamp of HONEYWELL Taxi Light
   (1) For the HONEYWELL taxi light:
     (a) Remove the four screws (1).
     (b) Removal of the retainer (2):
     (c) Removal of the lamp:
CAUTION: HOLD THE LAMP FIRMLY UNTIL IT IS FULLY DISCONNECTED. DO NOT PULL OR TWIST THE WIRES. THE WIRES WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM, OR IF THE LAMP FALLS AND HANGS AT THE END OF THE WIRES.
       1 Pull the lamp (3) away from the support (5).
     (d) Disconnect the two electrical wires:
CAUTION: DO NOT PULL THE LAMP TOO FAR OUT OF THE LIGHT. THE WIRES CONNECTED TO THE LAMP WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM.
       1 Disconnect the two electrical wires (4) from the electrical studs.
   (2) For the ZODIAC taxi light (alternative configuration):
F Lamp of ZODIAC Taxi Light
     (a) Remove the screw (7), the washer (6) and the insulating washer (8).
     (b) Removal of the clamp (1).
     (c) Removal of the lamp:
CAUTION: HOLD THE LAMP FIRMLY UNTIL IT IS FULLY DISCONNECTED. DO NOT PULL OR TWIST THE WIRES. THE WIRES WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM, OR IF THE LAMP FALLS AND HANGS AT THE END OF THE WIRES.
       1 Pull the lamp (2) away from the support (4).
     (d) Disconnect the two electrical wires:
CAUTION: DO NOT PULL THE LAMP TOO FAR OUT OF THE LIGHT. THE WIRES CONNECTED TO THE LAMP WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM.
       1 Remove the two screws (5) from the terminal stud.
       2 Disconnect the two electrical wires from the terminal stud.
     (e) Remove the lamp (2).
     (f) If the gasket (3) on the support (4) is defective, remove and discard it.

B. Installation of the Lamp
F Lamp of HONEYWELL Taxi Light
   (1) For the HONEYWELL taxi light:
     (a) Connect the two electrical wires:
CAUTION: DO NOT PULL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES WHEN YOU CONNECT THE TERMINALS TO THE LAMP. IF YOU PULL THE WIRES, YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
       1 Connect the two electrical wires (4) to the new AIPC 33-46-12-01-030 LAMP (3).
     (b) Install the lamp:
CAUTION: HOLD THE LAMP FIRMLY WHEN YOU INSTALL IT. DO NOT PULL OR TWIST THE WIRES. THE WIRES WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM, OR IF THE LAMP FALLS AND HANGS AT THE END OF THE WIRES.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE GASKET IS IN THE CORRECT POSITION. IF NOT, YOU CAN DECREASE THE LIFE OF THE LAMP.
       1 Put the lamp (3) in position on its support (5). Hold it in this position.
     (c) Put the retainer (2) in position.
     (d) Install the four screws (1).
     (e) Tighten the four screws (1).
   (2) For the ZODIAC taxi light (alternative configuration):
F Lamp of ZODIAC Taxi Light
     (a) If necessary, install a new AIPC 33-46-12-01-110 GASKET (3) on its support (4).
     (b) For the GE technology:
       1 Connect the two electrical wires:
CAUTION: DO NOT PULL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES WHEN YOU CONNECT THE TERMINALS TO THE LAMP. IF YOU PULL THE WIRES, YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
         a Connect the two electrical wires to the new AIPC 33-46-12-01-050 LAMP (2) and tighten the two screws (5).
         b TORQUE the two screws (5) to between 0.0986 and 0.0874 m.daN (8.73 and 7.73 lbf.in ) T.
       2 Install the lamp:
CAUTION: HOLD THE LAMP FIRMLY WHEN YOU INSTALL IT. DO NOT PULL OR TWIST THE WIRES. THE WIRES WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM, OR IF THE LAMP FALLS AND HANGS AT THE END OF THE WIRES.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE GASKET IS IN THE CORRECT POSITION. IF NOT, YOU CAN DECREASE THE LIFE OF THE LAMP.
         a Put the lamp (2) in position on its support (4). Hold it in this position.
         b Put the AIPC 33-46-12-01-010 CLAMP (1) in position.
NOTE: If the clamp (1) is twisted, replace it.
       3 Install the insulating washer (8), the washer (6) and the screw (7).
       4 Tighten the screw (7) until the screw head touches the bracket of the clamp (1).
       5 Tighten the screw (7) again by a minimum of two turns and/or until the clamp (1) can not be turned without distortion of the two brackets.
NOTE: Make sure that there are no signs of distortion of the clamp (1).
     (c) For the SHL technology:
       1 Connect the two electrical wires:
CAUTION: DO NOT PULL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES WHEN YOU CONNECT THE TERMINALS TO THE LAMP. IF YOU PULL THE WIRES, YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
         a Connect the two electrical wires to the new AIPC 33-46-12-01-051 LAMP (2) and tighten the two screws (5).
         b TORQUE the two screws (5) to between 0.11 and 0.09 m.daN (9.73 and 7.96 lbf.in ) T.
       2 Install the lamp:
CAUTION: HOLD THE LAMP FIRMLY WHEN YOU INSTALL IT. DO NOT PULL OR TWIST THE WIRES. THE WIRES WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM, OR IF THE LAMP FALLS AND HANGS AT THE END OF THE WIRES.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE GASKET IS IN THE CORRECT POSITION. IF NOT, YOU CAN DECREASE THE LIFE OF THE LAMP.
         a Put the lamp (2) in position on its support (4). Hold it in this position.
         b Put the AIPC 33-46-12-01-010 CLAMP (1) in position.
NOTE: If the clamp (1) is twisted, replace it.
       3 Install the insulating washer (8), the washer (6) and the screw (7).
       4 Put a gage with a thickness of 7 mm (0.28 in.) between the two brackets of the clamp (1).
       5 Tighten the screw (7) until the two brackets touch the gage.
NOTE: Make sure that there are no signs of distortion of the clamp (1).
       6 Remove the gage.

   (1) Do the operational test of the taxi light (Ref. AMM TASK 33-46-00-710-001).
