Replacement of the Halogen Bulb of the Take Off Light
WARNING:
WEAR GLASSES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE LIGHT. THE LAMP IS PRESSURIZED AND AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
WARNING:
DO NOT DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS FOR AT LEAST 2 MINUTES AFTER YOU DE-ENERGIZE THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS WITH YOUR FINGERS.
THE OILS FROM YOUR SKIN WILL QUICKLY CAUSE DETERIORATION OF THE LAMP.
IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS, CLEAN IT WITH A LINT-FREE CLOTH.
NOTE: This procedure is only applicable for halogen-bulb take off lights.

Subtask 33-46-11-020-055-A
A. Removal of the Halogen Bulb
(1) For the HONEYWELL take off light:
(a) Remove the screw (1) and the retainer (2).
(b) Pull the lens (3) away from the support (7).
(d) Carefully remove the halogen bulb (6).
(2) For the ZODIAC take off light:
(a) Remove the screw (1), the washer (10) and the insulating washer (11).
(b) Remove the clamp (2).
(c) Pull the lens (3) away from the support (7).
(e) Carefully remove the halogen bulb (6).
Subtask 33-46-11-420-055-A (1) For the HONEYWELL take off light:
(a) Remove the screw (1) and the retainer (2).
(b) Pull the lens (3) away from the support (7).
NOTE: Put an adhesive tape to hold the mirror (8) in position on the support (7).
(c) Remove the screws (4) and washers (5). (d) Carefully remove the halogen bulb (6).
(2) For the ZODIAC take off light:
(a) Remove the screw (1), the washer (10) and the insulating washer (11).
(b) Remove the clamp (2).
(c) Pull the lens (3) away from the support (7).
NOTE: Put an adhesive tape to hold the mirror (8) in position on the support (7).
(d) Remove the screws (4) and washers (5). (e) Carefully remove the halogen bulb (6).
B. Installation of the Halogen Bulb
(1) For the HONEYWELL take off light:
(a) Carefully put a new AIPC 33-46-11-01-050 HALOGEN BULB (6) in position.
(c) Tighten the two screws (4). Tighten the two screws (4) again a quarter turn after contact.
(d) Remove the adhesive tape from the mirror (8).
(e) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(f) Clean the surface of the lens (3) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) made moist with warm WATER - SOAPY SOLUTION.
(g) Dry the surface of the lens (3) with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(h) Put the lens (3) in position on the mirror (8).
(i) Put the AIPC 33-46-11-01-020 RETAINER (2) in position.
(k) TORQUE the screw (1) to between 7 and 6 lbf.in (0.08 and 0.07 m.daN )

(a) Carefully put a new AIPC 33-46-11-01-050 HALOGEN BULB (6) in position.
(c) Tighten the two screws (4). Tighten the two screws (4) again a quarter turn after contact.
(d) Remove the adhesive tape from the mirror (8).
(e) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(f) Clean the surface of the lens (3) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) made moist with warm WATER - SOAPY SOLUTION.
(g) Dry the surface of the lens (3) with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(h) Put the lens (3) in position on the mirror (8).
(i) Put the AIPC 33-46-11-01-010 GLASS ASSY (2) in position.
(k) Compress the clamp with your hand.
(l) Put a gage with a thickness of 11 +0 mm or -0.2 mm (0.4331 +0.0000 in. or -0.0079 in.) between the two brackets of the clamp (2).
(m) Tighten the screw (1) until the two brackets touch the gage. Be careful not to twist the clamp (2).
(n) Remove the gage.
Subtask 33-46-11-865-071-A (1) For the HONEYWELL take off light:
(a) Carefully put a new AIPC 33-46-11-01-050 HALOGEN BULB (6) in position.
NOTE: Make sure that the pinched seal (9) end points forward.
(b) Install the two washers (5) and the two screws (4). (c) Tighten the two screws (4). Tighten the two screws (4) again a quarter turn after contact.
(d) Remove the adhesive tape from the mirror (8).
(e) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(f) Clean the surface of the lens (3) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) made moist with warm WATER - SOAPY SOLUTION.
(g) Dry the surface of the lens (3) with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(h) Put the lens (3) in position on the mirror (8).
(i) Put the AIPC 33-46-11-01-020 RETAINER (2) in position.
NOTE: If the retainer (2) is twisted, replace it.
(j) Install the screw (1). (k) TORQUE the screw (1) to between 7 and 6 lbf.in (0.08 and 0.07 m.daN )
. NOTE: Make sure that there are no signs of distortion of the retainer (2).
(2) For the ZODIAC take off light: (a) Carefully put a new AIPC 33-46-11-01-050 HALOGEN BULB (6) in position.
NOTE: Make sure that the pinched seal (9) end points forward.
(b) Install the two washers (5) and the two screws (4). (c) Tighten the two screws (4). Tighten the two screws (4) again a quarter turn after contact.
(d) Remove the adhesive tape from the mirror (8).
(e) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(f) Clean the surface of the lens (3) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) made moist with warm WATER - SOAPY SOLUTION.
(g) Dry the surface of the lens (3) with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(h) Put the lens (3) in position on the mirror (8).
(i) Put the AIPC 33-46-11-01-010 GLASS ASSY (2) in position.
NOTE: If the clamp (2) is twisted, replace it.
(j) Install the insulating washer (11), the washer (10) and the screw (1). (k) Compress the clamp with your hand.
(l) Put a gage with a thickness of 11 +0 mm or -0.2 mm (0.4331 +0.0000 in. or -0.0079 in.) between the two brackets of the clamp (2).
(m) Tighten the screw (1) until the two brackets touch the gage. Be careful not to twist the clamp (2).
(n) Remove the gage.
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
