Replacement of the Lamp of the Take Off Light
WARNING:
WEAR GLASSES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE LIGHT. THE LAMP IS PRESSURIZED AND AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR.
WARNING:
DO NOT DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS FOR AT LEAST 2 MINUTES AFTER YOU DE-ENERGIZE THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS WITH YOUR FINGERS.
THE OILS FROM YOUR SKIN WILL QUICKLY CAUSE DETERIORATION OF THE LAMP.
IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS, CLEAN IT WITH A LINT-FREE CLOTH.
NOTE: This procedure is applicable to:
1. Reason for the Job- The substitute halogen lamp
- The General-Electric (GE) sealed-beam lamp
- The LED lamp.

Subtask 33-46-11-020-054-A
A. Removal of the Lamp
(a) Remove the screw (10).
(b) Remove the retainer (1).
(c) If the gasket (2) on the retainer (1) is damaged, remove and discard it.
1 Attach the two red electrical wires (8) together with the TAPE - ADHESIVE.
2 Remove the screws (5) and the star washers (6) from the terminal studs of the lamp (3).
3 Disconnect the white electrical wire (7) and the red electrical wires (8) from the terminal stud.
4 Install the star washers (6) and the screws (5) on the terminal studs of the lamp (3).
5 Tighten the screws (5).
(f) Remove the lamp (3).
(g) If the gaskets (4) on the support (9) are damaged, remove and discard them.
(2) For the Zodiac take-off light, do these steps:
(a) Remove the screw (6), the washer (5) and the insulating washer (7).
(b) Remove the clamp (1).
1 Remove the two screws (8) and the two washers (9) from the two terminal studs.
2 Disconnect the white electrical wire from the terminal stud.
3 Attach together the two red electrical wires that are connected to the same electrical terminal stud with the TAPE - ADHESIVE.
4 Disconnect the two red electrical wires from the terminal stud.
(e) Remove the lamp (2).
(f) If the gasket (3) on the support (4) is damaged, remove and discard it.
Subtask 33-46-11-420-054-A CAUTION:
MAKE MATCH MARKS ON ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THEM. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) For the Honeywell take-off light, do these steps:(a) Remove the screw (10).
(b) Remove the retainer (1).
(c) If the gasket (2) on the retainer (1) is damaged, remove and discard it.
CAUTION:
HOLD THE LAMP FIRMLY UNTIL IT IS FULLY DISCONNECTED. DO NOT PULL OR TWIST THE WIRES. THE WIRES WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM, OR IF THE LAMP FALLS AND HANGS AT THE END OF THE WIRES.
(d) Pull the lamp (3) away from the support (9).CAUTION:
DO NOT PULL THE LAMP TOO FAR OUT OF THE LIGHT. THE WIRES CONNECTED TO THE LAMP WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM.
(e) Disconnect the white electrical wire (7) and the red electrical wires (8):1 Attach the two red electrical wires (8) together with the TAPE - ADHESIVE.
2 Remove the screws (5) and the star washers (6) from the terminal studs of the lamp (3).
3 Disconnect the white electrical wire (7) and the red electrical wires (8) from the terminal stud.
4 Install the star washers (6) and the screws (5) on the terminal studs of the lamp (3).
5 Tighten the screws (5).
(f) Remove the lamp (3).
(g) If the gaskets (4) on the support (9) are damaged, remove and discard them.
(2) For the Zodiac take-off light, do these steps:
(a) Remove the screw (6), the washer (5) and the insulating washer (7).
(b) Remove the clamp (1).
CAUTION:
HOLD THE LAMP FIRMLY UNTIL IT IS FULLY DISCONNECTED. DO NOT PULL OR TWIST THE WIRES. THE WIRES WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM, OR IF THE LAMP FALLS AND HANGS AT THE END OF THE WIRES.
(c) Pull the lamp (2) away from the support (4).CAUTION:
DO NOT PULL THE LAMP TOO FAR OUT OF THE LIGHT. THE WIRES CONNECTED TO THE LAMP WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM.
(d) Disconnect the white electrical wire and the two red electrical wires:1 Remove the two screws (8) and the two washers (9) from the two terminal studs.
2 Disconnect the white electrical wire from the terminal stud.
3 Attach together the two red electrical wires that are connected to the same electrical terminal stud with the TAPE - ADHESIVE.
4 Disconnect the two red electrical wires from the terminal stud.
(e) Remove the lamp (2).
(f) If the gasket (3) on the support (4) is damaged, remove and discard it.
B. Installation of the Lamp
(1) For the Honeywell take-off light, do these steps:
(a) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(b) If necessary, install new AIPC 33-46-11-01-100 GASKETS (4) on the support (9).
1 Remove the screws (5) and the star washers (6) from the terminal studs of the lamp (3).
2 Put the white electrical wire (7) and the red electrical wires (8) in the correct position on the terminal studs of the lamp (3).
3 Install the star washers (6) and the screws (5) on the terminal studs of the lamp (3).
4 Tighten the screws (5).
5 Remove the adhesive tape that attaches the two red electrical wires (8).
(d) Install the lamp (3):
(e) If the retainer (1) is twisted, replace it.
(g) Put the retainer (1) in position.
(h) Install the screw (10).
(i) For the GE sealed-beam lamp (3) or the substitute halogen lamp (3):
(j) Make sure that there are no signs of distortion on the retainer (1).
(2) For the Zodiac take-off light, do these steps:
(a) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(b) If necessary, install a new AIPC 33-46-11-01-110 GASKET (3) on the support (4).
(c) For the substitute halogen lamp (2), do these steps:
a Connect the white electrical wire to the terminal stud.
b Connect the two red electrical wires to the other terminal stud.
c Install the two washers (9) and the two screws (8) on the two terminal studs.
d Remove the adhesive tape that attaches the two red electrical wires.
e TORQUE the two screws (8) to between 0.11 and 0.09 m.daN (9.73 and 7.96 lbf.in )

2 Install the lamp (2):
3 If the clamp (1) is twisted, replace it.
5 Install the insulating washer (7), the washer (5) and the screw (6).
6 Compress the clamp (1) with your hand.
7 Tighten the screw (6) until the distance between the two brackets of the clamp (1) is equal to 11 +0 mm or -0.2 mm (0.4331 +0.0000 in. or -0.0079 in.). Be careful not to twist the clamp (1).
8 Make sure that there are no signs of distortion on the clamp (1).
(d) For the GE sealed-beam lamp (2) or the LED lamp (2) of the take off light, do these steps:
a Connect the white electrical wire to the terminal stud.
b Connect the two red electrical wires to the other terminal stud.
c Install the two washers (9) and the two screws (8) and tighten them.
d Remove the adhesive tape that attaches the two red electrical wires.
2 Install the lamp (2):
3 If the clamp (1) is twisted, replace it.
5 Install the insulating washer (7), the washer (5) and the screw (6).
6 Compress the clamp (1) with your hand.
7 Tighten the screw (6) until its head touches the bracket of the clamp (1).
8 Tighten the screw (6) again until a minimum of two threads show on the other side of the bracket of the clamp (1). Be careful not to twist the clamp (1).
9 Make sure that there are no signs of distortion on the clamp (1).
Subtask 33-46-11-865-070-A (1) For the Honeywell take-off light, do these steps:
(a) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(b) If necessary, install new AIPC 33-46-11-01-100 GASKETS (4) on the support (9).
CAUTION:
DO NOT PULL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES WHEN YOU CONNECT THE TERMINALS TO THE LAMP. IF YOU PULL THE WIRES, YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
(c) Connect the white electrical wire (7) and the two red electrical wires (8):1 Remove the screws (5) and the star washers (6) from the terminal studs of the lamp (3).
2 Put the white electrical wire (7) and the red electrical wires (8) in the correct position on the terminal studs of the lamp (3).
3 Install the star washers (6) and the screws (5) on the terminal studs of the lamp (3).
4 Tighten the screws (5).
5 Remove the adhesive tape that attaches the two red electrical wires (8).
(d) Install the lamp (3):
CAUTION:
HOLD THE LAMP FIRMLY WHEN YOU INSTALL IT. DO NOT PULL OR TWIST THE WIRES. THE WIRES WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM, OR IF THE LAMP FALLS AND HANGS AT THE END OF THE WIRES.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GASKET IS IN THE CORRECT POSITION. IF NOT, YOU CAN DECREASE THE LIFE OF THE LAMP.
1 Put the lamp (3) in position on its support (9). Hold it in this position.(e) If the retainer (1) is twisted, replace it.
NOTE: The retainer (1) can be easily twisted.
(f) If necessary, install and bond a new AIPC 33-46-11-01-030 GASKET (2) with the Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) on the AIPC 33-46-11-01-020 RETAINER (1).(g) Put the retainer (1) in position.
(h) Install the screw (10).
(i) For the GE sealed-beam lamp (3) or the substitute halogen lamp (3):
(j) Make sure that there are no signs of distortion on the retainer (1).
(2) For the Zodiac take-off light, do these steps:
(a) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(b) If necessary, install a new AIPC 33-46-11-01-110 GASKET (3) on the support (4).
(c) For the substitute halogen lamp (2), do these steps:
CAUTION:
DO NOT PULL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES WHEN YOU CONNECT THE TERMINALS TO THE LAMP. IF YOU PULL THE WIRES, YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
1 Connect the white electrical wire and the two red electrical wires:a Connect the white electrical wire to the terminal stud.
b Connect the two red electrical wires to the other terminal stud.
c Install the two washers (9) and the two screws (8) on the two terminal studs.
d Remove the adhesive tape that attaches the two red electrical wires.
e TORQUE the two screws (8) to between 0.11 and 0.09 m.daN (9.73 and 7.96 lbf.in )
.2 Install the lamp (2):
CAUTION:
HOLD THE LAMP FIRMLY WHEN YOU INSTALL IT. DO NOT PULL OR TWIST THE WIRES. THE WIRES WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM, OR IF THE LAMP FALLS AND HANGS AT THE END OF THE WIRES.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GASKET IS IN THE CORRECT POSITION. IF NOT, YOU CAN DECREASE THE LIFE OF THE LAMP.
a Put the lamp (2) in position on its support (4). Hold it in this position.3 If the clamp (1) is twisted, replace it.
NOTE: The clamp (1) can be easily twisted.
4 Put the AIPC 33-46-11-01-010 CLAMP (1) in position.5 Install the insulating washer (7), the washer (5) and the screw (6).
6 Compress the clamp (1) with your hand.
7 Tighten the screw (6) until the distance between the two brackets of the clamp (1) is equal to 11 +0 mm or -0.2 mm (0.4331 +0.0000 in. or -0.0079 in.). Be careful not to twist the clamp (1).
8 Make sure that there are no signs of distortion on the clamp (1).
(d) For the GE sealed-beam lamp (2) or the LED lamp (2) of the take off light, do these steps:

DO NOT PULL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES WHEN YOU CONNECT THE TERMINALS TO THE LAMP. IF YOU PULL THE WIRES, YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
1 Connect the white electrical wire and the two red electrical wires:a Connect the white electrical wire to the terminal stud.
b Connect the two red electrical wires to the other terminal stud.
c Install the two washers (9) and the two screws (8) and tighten them.
d Remove the adhesive tape that attaches the two red electrical wires.
2 Install the lamp (2):
CAUTION:
HOLD THE LAMP FIRMLY WHEN YOU INSTALL IT. DO NOT PULL OR TWIST THE WIRES. THE WIRES WILL BECOME DAMAGED IF YOU PULL OR TWIST THEM, OR IF THE LAMP FALLS AND HANGS AT THE END OF THE WIRES.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GASKET IS IN THE CORRECT POSITION. IF NOT, YOU CAN DECREASE THE LIFE OF THE LAMP.
a Put the lamp (2) in position on its support (4). Hold it in this position.3 If the clamp (1) is twisted, replace it.
NOTE: The clamp (1) can be easily twisted.
4 Put the AIPC 33-46-11-01-010 CLAMP (1) in position.5 Install the insulating washer (7), the washer (5) and the screw (6).
6 Compress the clamp (1) with your hand.
7 Tighten the screw (6) until its head touches the bracket of the clamp (1).
8 Tighten the screw (6) again until a minimum of two threads show on the other side of the bracket of the clamp (1). Be careful not to twist the clamp (1).
9 Make sure that there are no signs of distortion on the clamp (1).
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
