(1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the EXT LT section of the overhead panel 25VU to tell persons not to operate the runway turnoff lights.

4. Procedure
Subtask 33-43-00-040-051-B

A. Deactivation of the Runway Turnoff Light(s) (3LC1 and/or 3LC2)

WARNING: WEAR GLASSES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE LIGHT. THE LAMP IS PRESSURIZED AND AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR.

(1) Do the steps that follow if:

The glass lens of the runway turnoff light(s) has only cracks
It does not move, and
No parts are missing.

(a) Carefully clean the surface of the glass lens (and the overlap area on the cover assembly) with the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with warm WATER - SOAPY SOLUTION.
(b) Dry the surface of the runway turnoff light-lens and the cover assembly with the new Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(c) Apply Adhesive Film Tape-Erosion Protective Polyurethane - 0.36mm Legacy (Material No.05RQB9) or Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) on the crack(s) or damage. Make sure that there is a good overlap of the glass lens and the cover assembly.
(d) Make sure that the tape is correctly installed and has no bubbles or damage that will have an effect on its performance.
(e) Let the tape bond for a minimum of 15 minutes at a minimum temperature of 15 deg.C (59.00 deg.F).
(f) Make the entries that follow in the aircraft technical logbook:

The glass lens of the runway turnoff light(s) is temporarily safetied with tape.
The runway turnoff light(s) does(do) not operate.

NOTE: You cannot operate the runway turnoff light(s) that is(are) temporarily safetied with tape.

(2) Do the steps that follow if:

The glass lens of the runway turnoff light(s) is broken.
The cover assembly is damaged.
There are parts of the glass that move or are missing (the cover body does not hold the glass tightly).

(a) Remove the defective runway turnoff light(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 33-43-11-000-001).
(b) Make the entries that follow in the aircraft technical logbook:

The runway turnoff light(s) is(are) removed.
The runway turnoff light(s) does(do) not operate.

(c) Put a CAP - PROTECTION on the harness plug.
(3) Put a PLACARD on switch 2LC of panel 25VU to identify the runway turnoff light(s) which does(do) not operate.
