Reactivation of the Lens of the Rear Navigation and Strobe Light Assembly

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE STROBE LIGHTS FOR AT LEAST 5 MINUTES AFTER OPERATION. THE STROBE LIGHT WILL STILL BE HOT.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

Subtask 33-41-00-941-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE APU UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
   (1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (2) In the cockpit, on panel 25VU:
  • Make sure that the STROBE switch is in the OFF position.
  • Make sure that the NAV & LOGO switch is in the OFF position.
  • Make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is in the OFF position.
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the navigation lights or the strobe lights.
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the APU.

B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the APU tail-cone-exhaust area.

4. Procedure
Subtask 33-41-00-440-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Reactivation of the Lens of the Rear Navigation and Strobe Light Assembly
   (1) Install a new lens (2) on the rear navigation and strobe light assembly (1):
     (a) Put the lens (2) in position in the rear navigation and strobe light assembly (1).
     (b) Install the screws (3) in the lens (2).
     (c) TORQUE the screws (3) to between 0.106 and 0.094 m.daN (9.38 and 8.32 lbf.in ) T
     (d) Secure the screws (3) with DELO-ML5327.
   (2) Make an applicable entry in the logbook to indicate that you did the reactivation procedure.

B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the safety barriers.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
