Deactivation of the Nose-Wheel Steering Electrical Deactivation-Box (for Flight)
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) on the panel 400VU to tell persons not to operate the nose landing gear.
(2) On the center pedestal, in the cockpit, make sure that the free-fall control handle of the landing gear is in the normal position.

A. Deactivation of the Nose-Wheel Steering Electrical Deactivation-Box 5GC
(1) On the nose-wheel steering electrical deactivation-box (1), set the lever to the non-towing (engaged) position.
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the nose-wheel steering electrical deactivation-box (1).
(3) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connector (2).
(4) Safety the blanking cap with TIE WRAP for flight.
(5) Safety the electrical harness away from parts that move.
Subtask 32-51-00-865-116-A (1) On the nose-wheel steering electrical deactivation-box (1), set the lever to the non-towing (engaged) position.
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the nose-wheel steering electrical deactivation-box (1).
(3) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connector (2).
(4) Safety the blanking cap with TIE WRAP for flight.
(5) Safety the electrical harness away from parts that move.
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

(1) There is no electrical supply at the nose-wheel steering electrical deactivation-box.

- The parking brake light on the nose-wheel steering electrical deactivation-box does not operate.
- Persons will have to speak to confirm parking brake operation during towing operations.

(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
