1. Reason for the Job
Do this task only if directed from TSM task 32-10-00-810-801-A.
NOTE: It is possible to see signs of oil leakage from the interface between the main fitting and the lower bearing gland housing (static seal area). The fluid loss in this condition is at a very low level but constant rate. It is possible to continue operation of the aircraft with minor oil loss from this area:
  • As the conditions detailed in TSM task 32-10-00-810-801-A and in the procedure that follows.
NOTE: For a major loss of oil in the lower bearing gland seal area, the procedure that follows does not apply. Refer to TSM task 32-10-00-810-801-A and AMM task 32-11-13-860-001-A as applicable.

A. MLG Shock Absorber Leak Rate Confirmation Check for Signs of Oil Leakage from the Interface between the Main Fitting and the Lower Bearing Gland Housing (static seal area)
   (1) Do a leak rate confirmation check for a 6 hour period as follows:
     (a) Put a CONTAINER - CLEAN, APPLICABLE to collect all drops of oil from the gear below the applicable location.
     (b) After 6 hours, examine the CONTAINER - CLEAN, APPLICABLE to find the number of drops of oil collected. If necessary, do this as follows:
       1 Put drops of oil into an equivalent CONTAINER - CLEAN, APPLICABLE until the volume of oil is the same as the volume that was collected. Make a record of the number of drops of oil that were added.
   (2) Do the applicable step that follows:
     (a) If the number of drops of oil collected during the 6 hour period is no more than 1 drop, no further action is required.
     (b) If the number of drops of oil collected during the 6 hour period is 2 drops then:
     (c) If the number of drops of oil collected during the 6 hour period is more than 2 drops, contact AIRBUS for more information.
