A. Safety Precautions
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work near the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

A. General Visual Inspection of Fuel Tanks for Minor External Leaks

WARNING: BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET AIRCRAFT FUEL IN YOUR MOUTH OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU GET FUEL ON YOUR SKIN OR ON YOUR CLOTHES, FLUSH IT IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER. IF NECESSARY, GET MEDICAL HELP. AIRCRAFT FUEL IS POISONOUS.

(1) Do a visual check from the ground for fuel leaks in the following areas:

Left wing area
Right wing area
Bottom surface of the center tank.

If you find a fuel leak, examine the leakage rate (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-00-280-002).

A. Removal of Equipment
(1) If used, remove the safety barriers.
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
