DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing-gear doors.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in the applicable position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(1) Extend the flaps fully (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.

CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:

DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

Subtask 27-54-45-020-053-A

A. Removal of the Torque Shaft
(1) Install the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT on a flap torque shaft, outboard of the component that you remove (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003).
(2) Remove and discard the nuts (39).
(3) Remove the bolts (38) and the torque shaft (37).
(4) Remove the retaining ring (40), the pin (41) and the universal joint (42).
(5) Remove the retaining ring (43), the pin (35) and the plunging joint (36).
