A. Remove the related rudder control rod (Ref. AMM TASK 27-21-52-000-001).

WARNING: USE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
A. Replacement of the Single-Eye Ends for Rods with P/N 22200-00, 22200-02
F Rods (P/N 22200-00, 22200-02)
NOTE: Refer to the IPC (figure 27-21-04-21 or 27-21-04-22) to identify the part numbers of the rods and rod ends.
   (1) Before you replace the single-eye ends, measure and record the length of each rod end. This will make sure that the length is the same after the rod end replacement.
   (2) Removal of the installed single-eye end (2):
     (a) Cut and discard the lockwire of the single-eye end (2).
     (b) Loosen the nut (3).
     (c) Remove the single-eye end (2), the nut (3) and the locking device (4).
     (d) Discard the locking device (4).
   (3) Installation of the new single-eye end (2):
     (a) Lubricate the thread of the new single-eye end (2) with Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) .
     (b) Install the nut (3) on the new single-eye end (2).
     (c) Install the new locking device (4) on the new single-eye end (2).
     (d) Install the new single-eye end (2) on the rod (1) and adjust the length.
     (e) Tighten the nut (3).
     (f) Safety the locking device (4) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (4) Removal of the installed single-eye end (6):
     (a) Cut and discard the lockwire of the single-eye end (6).
     (b) Loosen the nut (5).
     (c) Remove the single-eye end (6), the nut (5) and the locking device (4).
     (d) Discard the locking device (4).
   (5) Installation of the new single-eye end (6):
     (a) Lubricate the thread of the new single-eye end (6) with Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) .
     (b) Install the nut (5) on the new single-eye end (6).
     (c) Install the new locking device (4) on the new single-eye end (6).
     (d) Install the new single-eye end (6) on the rod (1) and adjust the length.
     (e) Tighten the nut (5).
     (f) Safety the locking device (4) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -

B. Replacement of the Fork End and Single-Eye End for Rods with P/N 22200-04

NOTE: Refer to the IPC (figure 27-21-04-21 or 27-21-04-22) to identify the part numbers of the rods and rod ends.
   (1) Before you replace the fork end and single-eye end, measure and record the length of each rod end. This will make sure that the length is the same after the rod end replacement.
   (2) Removal of the installed fork end (2):
     (a) Cut and discard the lockwire of the fork end (2).
     (b) Loosen the nut (3).
     (c) Remove the fork end (2), the nut (3) and the locking device (4).
     (d) Discard the locking device (4).
   (3) Installation of the new fork end (2):
     (a) Lubricate the thread of the new fork end (2) with Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) .
     (b) Install the nut (3) on the new fork end (2).
     (c) Install the new locking device (4) on the new fork end (2).
     (d) Install the new rod fork end (2) on the rod (1) and adjust the length.
     (e) Tighten the nut (3).
     (f) Safety the locking device (4) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (4) Removal of the installed single-eye end (6):
     (a) Cut and discard the lockwire of the single-eye end (6).
     (b) Loosen the nut (5).
     (c) Remove the single-eye end (6), the nut (5) and the locking device (4).
     (d) Discard the locking device (4).
   (5) Installation of the new single-eye end (6):
     (a) Lubricate the thread of the new single-eye end (6) with Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) .
     (b) Install the nut (5) on the new single-eye end (6).
     (c) Install the new locking device (4) on the new single-eye end (6).
     (d) Install the new single-eye end (6) on the rod (1) and adjust the length.
     (e) Tighten the nut (5).
     (f) Safety the locking device (4) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -

   (1) Before you replace the fork end and double-eye end, measure and record the length of each rod end. This will make sure that the length is the same after the rod end replacement.
   (2) Removal of the installed fork end (2):
     (a) Cut and discard the lockwire of the fork end (2).
     (b) Loosen the nut (3).
     (c) Remove the fork end (2), the nut (3) and the locking device (4).
     (d) Discard the locking device (4).
   (3) Installation of the new fork end (2):
     (a) Lubricate the thread of the new fork end (2) with Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) .
     (b) Install the nut (3) on the new fork end (2).
     (c) Install the new locking device (4) on the new fork end (2).
     (d) Install the new rod fork end (2) on the rod (1) and adjust the length.
     (e) Tighten the nut (3).
     (f) Safety the locking device (4) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (4) Removal of the installed double-eye end (6):
     (a) Cut and discard the lockwire of the double-eye end (6).
     (b) Loosen the nut (5).
     (c) Remove the double-eye end (6), the nut (5) and the locking device (4).
     (d) Discard the locking device (4).
   (5) Installation of the new double-eye end (6):
     (a) Lubricate the thread of the new double-eye end (6) with Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) .
     (b) Install the nut (5) on the new double-eye end (6).
     (c) Install the new locking device (4) on the new double-eye end (6).
     (d) Install the new double-eye end (6) on the rod (1) and adjust the length.
     (e) Tighten the nut (5).
     (f) Safety the locking device (4) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -

   (1) Before you replace the single-eye end and double-eye end, measure and record the length of each rod end. This will make sure that the length is the same after the rod end replacement.
   (2) Removal of the installed single-eye end (2):
     (a) Cut and discard the lockwire of the single-eye end (2).
     (b) Loosen the nut (3).
     (c) Remove the single-eye end (2), the nut (3) and the locking device (4).
     (d) Discard the locking device (4).
   (3) Installation of the new single-eye end (2):
     (a) Lubricate the thread of the new single-eye end (2) with Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) .
     (b) Install the nut (3) on the new single-eye end (2).
     (c) Install the new locking device (4) on the new single-eye end (2).
     (d) Install the new single-eye end (2) on the rod (1) and adjust the length.
     (e) Tighten the nut (3).
     (f) Safety the locking device (4) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (4) Removal of the installed double-eye end (6):
     (a) Cut and discard the lockwire of the double-eye end (6).
     (b) Loosen the nut (5).
     (c) Remove the double-eye end (6), the nut (5) and the locking device (4).
     (d) Discard the locking device (4).
   (5) Installation of the new double-eye end (6):
     (a) Lubricate the thread of the new double-eye end (6) with Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) .
     (b) Install the nut (5) on the new double-eye end (6).
     (c) Install the new locking device (4) on the new double-eye end (6).
     (d) Install the new double-eye end (6) on the rod (1) and adjust the length.
     (e) Tighten the nut (5).
     (f) Safety the locking device (4) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -
