A. Get Access
(1) Open the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the opening of the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door(s).
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the control panel of the cargo loading system to tell persons not to use it.

(1) For the aft cargo compartment, remove the floor panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001) to get access to the YZ-latches.

4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Fixed YZ-Latch and YZ-Guide Rail

Fixed YZ-Latch and YZ-Guide Rail ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Remove the YZ-guide rail:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pins (15).
(b) Remove the connecting pins (16) from the YZ-guide rail (17).
(c) Remove the YZ-guide rail (17).
(2) Remove the YZ-latch with transport roller:

NOTE: The bolts have different lengths. Write down their positions to make the installation easier.

(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (6).
(b) Remove the spindle (7) from the transport roller (5).
(c) Remove the transport roller (5).
(d) In the aft cargo compartment, remove the bolts (1), the screws (9) and the nuts (4) and (10) from the YZ-latch (8).
(e) In the forward cargo, compartment remove the bolts (1), the screws (9) and the nuts (10) from the YZ-latch (8).
(f) Remove the YZ-latch (8) from the structure (3).
(3) Remove the fixed YZ-latch:
(a) In the aft cargo compartment, remove the nuts (4) and (10), the bolts (1) and the screws (9) from the YZ-latch (2).
(b) In the forward cargo compartment, remove the bolts (1), the screws (9) and the nuts (10) from the YZ-latch (2).
(c) Remove the fixed YZ-latch (2) from the structure (3).
