A. Get Access
(1) Open the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the opening of the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door.
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the control panel of the related cargo loading system to tell persons not to use it.

C. Get Access
(1) For the aft cargo compartment, remove the applicable floor panels (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001) to get access to the YZ-latch.

4. Procedure

A. Removal of the YZ-Latch and the Continuous Side Guide
(1) Remove the continuous side guide.

Fixed YZ-Latches and Continuous Side Guides ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

NOTE: The YZ-guide rails installed between the fixed YZ-latches give a continuous side guide.

(a) Remove and discard the cotter pins (15).
(b) Remove the connecting pin (16) from the YZ-guide rail (17).
(c) Remove and discard the cotter pins (15).
(d) Remove the connecting pin (16) from the YZ-guide rail (17).
(e) Lift and remove the YZ-guide rail (17).

NOTE: Nuts and bolts attach some YZ-guide rails to the entrance guides.

(f) Remove the nuts (18) and the bolts (19).
(g) Remove and discard the cotter pins (15).
(h) Remove the connecting pin (16) from the YZ-guide rail (20).
(i) Lift and remove the YZ-guide rail (20).
(2) Remove the YZ-Latch with the transport roller.

Fixed YZ-Latches and Continuous Side Guides ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

NOTE: The bolts of the YZ latches have different lengths. Write down their positions to make the installation easier.

(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (6).
(b) Remove the spindle (7) from the transport roller (5).
(c) Remove the transport roller (5).
(d) In the AFT cargo compartment remove the bolts (1) the nuts (4) from the YZ-latch (8).
(e) In the FWD cargo compartment remove the bolts (1) from the YZ-latch (8).
(f) Remove the YZ-latch (8) from the structure (3).
(3) Remove the YZ-latch.

Fixed YZ-Latches and Continuous Side Guides ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(a) In the AFT cargo compartment remove the bolts (1) and the nuts (4) from the YZ-latch (2).
(b) In the FWD cargo compartment remove the bolts (1) from the YZ-latch (2).
(c) Remove the YZ-latch (2) from the structure (3).
