4. Procedure

A. Reactivation of the Defective or Missing Waste-Compartment Flapper-Door
F Galley-Waste-Compartment Flapper-Door
   (1) Remove the warning notice and the aluminium tape.
   (2) If necessary, remove the damaged flapper-door:
     (a) Open the access door.
     (b) Remove the waste container.
     (c) Remove the bolt (3) and the washer (2) and disconnect the bonding strap (1).
     (d) If installed, remove the bolt (6), the washer (5) and the nut (4).
     (e) If installed, remove the damping (9).
     (f) Remove the screws (7) and the flapper-door (8).
   (3) Install a new flapper-door:
     (a) Put the new flapper-door (8) in position and install the screws (7).
     (b) If necessary, put the damping (9) in position.
     (c) If necessary, put the washer (5) in position and install the bolt (6) and the nut (4).
     (d) Connect the bonding strap (1), put the washer (2) in position and install the bolt (3).
     (e) Make sure that the flapper-door:
  • Operates correctly
  • Is aligned with the surface
  • Closes and seals fully.
     (f) Put the waste container in position.
     (g) Close the access door.
