Installation of the Tubing - IDG Cooler Oil
WARNING:
DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH THE OIL FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY.
WARNING:
WEAR GOGGLES, INSULATED GLOVES AND OTHER PROTECTIVE CLOTHES.
HOT OIL CAN BURN YOUR EYES AND SKIN.
IF OIL TOUCHES YOUR EYES OR SKIN, GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET ENGINE FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Installation of the IDG Oil Tubes on the IDG Oil Cooler
(1) Lubricate the new AIPC 24-21-42-80-070 SEALING RING (10) with clean engine oil (Material No.V10-039) and install it on the oil tube (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010).
(2) Attach the oil tube to the fuel-cooled IDG oil-cooler with the bolts (9).
(3) TORQUE the bolts to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(4) Lubricate the new AIPC 24-21-42-80-070 PACKING (8) with clean engine oil (Material No.V10-039) and install it to the oil tube (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010).
(5) Attach the oil tube to the fuel-cooled IDG oil-cooler with the bolts (7).
(6) TORQUE the bolts to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN )

Subtask 24-21-49-420-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Lubricate the new AIPC 24-21-42-80-070 SEALING RING (10) with clean engine oil (Material No.V10-039) and install it on the oil tube (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010).
(2) Attach the oil tube to the fuel-cooled IDG oil-cooler with the bolts (9).
(3) TORQUE the bolts to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (4) Lubricate the new AIPC 24-21-42-80-070 PACKING (8) with clean engine oil (Material No.V10-039) and install it to the oil tube (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010).
(5) Attach the oil tube to the fuel-cooled IDG oil-cooler with the bolts (7).
(6) TORQUE the bolts to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN )

(2) Connect the oil inlet tube (1) to the coupling (3).
(3) Connect the oil outlet tube (2) to the coupling (4).
(4) Put the oil tube (11) in the correct position for installation between the tube (5) and tube (1).
(5) Put the oil tube (12) in to the correct position for installation between the tube (6) and tube (2).
(6) Tighten the tubes on the connectors with your hand.
(7) At the gearbox bracket (13), align the spacer (19) and clip (17) and install the bolt (15).
(8) At the gearbox bracket (13), align the spacer (18) and clip (16) and install the bolt (14).
(9) Hold the tube (11) and TORQUE the oil inlet tube (1) to between 945 and 844 lbf.in (10.68 and 9.54 m.daN )

(10) Hold the tube (12) and TORQUE the oil outlet tube (2) to between 680 and 620 lbf.in (7.68 and 7.01 m.daN )

(11) Hold the tube (5) and TORQUE the oil tube (11) to between 945 and 844 lbf.in (10.68 and 9.54 m.daN )

(12) Hold the tube (6) and TORQUE the oil tube (12) to between 680 and 620 lbf.in (7.68 and 7.01 m.daN )

(13) Hold the oil outlet coupling (4) with a wrench and TORQUE the tube (2) to between 680 and 620 lbf.in (7.68 and 7.01 m.daN )

(14) Hold the oil inlet coupling (3) with a wrench and TORQUE the tube (1) to between 945 and 855 lbf.in (10.68 and 9.66 m.daN )

Subtask 24-21-49-420-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TUBES CANNOT TWIST. DAMAGE TO THE TUBES CAN OCCUR IF THEY DO TWIST.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE COUPLINGS DO NOT TWIST. DAMAGE TO THE IDG BOSSES CAN OCCUR IF YOU DO NOT HOLD THE COUPLINGS.
(1) Lighly lubricate the end fittings on the oil tubes and the couplings with engine oil (Material No.V10-039) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-010). (2) Connect the oil inlet tube (1) to the coupling (3).
(3) Connect the oil outlet tube (2) to the coupling (4).
(4) Put the oil tube (11) in the correct position for installation between the tube (5) and tube (1).
(5) Put the oil tube (12) in to the correct position for installation between the tube (6) and tube (2).
(6) Tighten the tubes on the connectors with your hand.
(7) At the gearbox bracket (13), align the spacer (19) and clip (17) and install the bolt (15).
(8) At the gearbox bracket (13), align the spacer (18) and clip (16) and install the bolt (14).
(9) Hold the tube (11) and TORQUE the oil inlet tube (1) to between 945 and 844 lbf.in (10.68 and 9.54 m.daN )

(2) Install the harness and tube assemblies at position F.
(a) Align the clip (22) with the support clip (23).
(b) Make sure that the two harness and tube assemblies are loose, have no tension and that there is a clearance between the adjacent components and structure.
(c) Install the bolt (24), washer(s) (21) and nut (20).
(3) Install the harness and tube assemblies at position G.
(a) Align the clip (27) with the support clip (28).
(b) Make sure that the two harness and tube assemblies are loose, have no tension and that there is a clearance between the adjacent components and structure.
(c) Install the bolt (29), washer(s) (26) and nut (25).
(4) Install the harness and tube assemblies at position H.
(a) Align the clip (33) with the support clip (32).
(b) Make sure that the two harness and tube assemblies are loose, have no tension and that there is a clearance between the adjacent components and structure.
(c) Install the bolt (30), washer(s) (31) and nut (34).
(5) Install the harness and tube assemblies at position J.
(a) Align the clip (36) with the lug.
(b) Make sure that the two harness and tube assemblies are loose, have no tension and that there is a clearance between the adjacent components and structure.
(c) Install the bolt (38), washer (37) (if applicable) and nut (35).
Subtask 24-21-49-612-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 24-21-49-210-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
MAKE SURE CLIP POINT 1125 AND CLIP POINT 1124 HOLD THE HARNESS INBOARD OF THE OIL TUBE. DAMAGE CAN OCCUR TO THE HARNESS IF HELD OUTBOARD.
(1) Make sure that the two harness/tube assemblies are loose, have no tension and are clear of the adjacent components and structure. (2) Install the harness and tube assemblies at position F.
(a) Align the clip (22) with the support clip (23).
(b) Make sure that the two harness and tube assemblies are loose, have no tension and that there is a clearance between the adjacent components and structure.
(c) Install the bolt (24), washer(s) (21) and nut (20).
(3) Install the harness and tube assemblies at position G.
(a) Align the clip (27) with the support clip (28).
(b) Make sure that the two harness and tube assemblies are loose, have no tension and that there is a clearance between the adjacent components and structure.
(c) Install the bolt (29), washer(s) (26) and nut (25).
(4) Install the harness and tube assemblies at position H.
(a) Align the clip (33) with the support clip (32).
(b) Make sure that the two harness and tube assemblies are loose, have no tension and that there is a clearance between the adjacent components and structure.
(c) Install the bolt (30), washer(s) (31) and nut (34).
(5) Install the harness and tube assemblies at position J.
(a) Align the clip (36) with the lug.
(b) Make sure that the two harness and tube assemblies are loose, have no tension and that there is a clearance between the adjacent components and structure.
(c) Install the bolt (38), washer (37) (if applicable) and nut (35).
E. Visual Inspection for Oil Leaks
(1) Do a visual inspection for oil leaks at the IDG and the oil tubes. Leaks are not permitted.
