A. Bonding Protection
(1) The bonding protection is not necessary when all parts of the assembly are made of corrosion resistant materials (example: Titanium, CRES).
(2) Get the applicable final protection materials from the bonding point location:

NOTE: * The sealant with low adhesion Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) can replace the Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) where the removal installation of the parts is frequent.
NOTE: ** In areas where external paint scheme is applied, no specific surface protection is necessary for electrical bonding.
Subtask 20-28-00-600-050-A
A. Application of the Final Protection Material:
(1) Clean and dry the bonding assembly and the bare area that you can see with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to remove all signs of grease or oil.
(2) Final protection application
1 Apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.04TMB2) or Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) on the bonding assembly and on the bare area with a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SMALL.
2 Make sure that the overlap of the varnish is a minimum of 2 mm (0.08 in.) all around the bonding assembly and the bare area.
3 Make sure that areas remaining bare after the installation are fully sealed.
1 Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) on the bonding assembly and on the bare area with a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SMALL.
2 Make sure that the overlap of the sealant is a minimum of 2 mm (0.08 in.) all around the bonding assembly and the bare area.
3 Make sure that areas remaining bare after installation are fully sealed.
4 When the sealant is cured, apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.04TMB2) or Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) with a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SMALL to overlap the sealant layer.
Make sure that you fully apply the paint and coatings over the sealant.
5 Make sure that the overlap of the varnish is a minimum of 2 mm (0.08 in.) all around the bonding assembly area protected with sealant.
6 If the crimping ring or barrel is above or adjacent to the terminal lug:
1 Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) on the bonding assembly and on the bare area with a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SMALL.
2 Make sure that the overlap of the sealant is a minimum of 2 mm (0.08 in.), if possible all around the bonding assembly and the bare area.
3 Make sure that areas remaining bare after the installation are fully sealed.
(e) Type C1 areas (internal pylon area) protected by sealant:
1 Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) on the bonding assembly and on the bare area with a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SMALL.
2 Make sure that the overlap of the sealant is a minimum of 2 mm (0.08 in.) all around the bonding assembly and the bare area.
3 Make sure that the surfaces without protection are fully sealed.
4 If the crimping ring or barrel is above or adjacent to the terminal lug:
1 Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) on the bonding points (external) with a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SMALL.
NOTE: There must be a surface protection on the bare surface. This is to prevent corrosion and moisture paths to bonding point area.
(a) Final protection principle: - The final protection must protect all the areas that are bare after installation from the moisture from all sources and must overlap the protection around them
- The overlap surface must not touch the other parts/markings (other attaching parts, label reading).
- The final protection applied on the crimping ring or barrel of the terminal lug must not keep the moisture into the crimping ring or barrel.
For the terminal lug orientation and the final protection:
- Make sure that there is no final protection on the crimping ring or barrel on side A if there is no final protection on side B.
- The final protection applied on the crimping ring or barrel of the terminal lug must not keep the moisture into the crimping ring or barrel.
- Make sure that there is no final protection on the crimping ring or barrel on side A if there is no final protection on side B.
- The final protection applied on the crimping ring or barrel of the terminal lug must not keep the moisture into the crimping ring or barrel.
1 Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) on the bonding points (external) with a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SMALL.
