A. Installation of the Static Seals
(1) Visual inspection
(a) Visually examine the seal contact surface of the groove for deformations or scratches.
(b) Make sure that there is/are no particles or lubricant on the groove surface before you install the seal.

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.

1 If you find dirt, particles or lubricant, you must clean the surface(s) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
2 Remove all the solvent from the surface(s) before you install the new seal.

CAUTION: DO NOT USE SHARP TOOLS WHEN YOU INSTALL A SEAL IN THE GROOVE. A DAMAGED SEAL CAN CAUSE UNSATISFACTORY SEALING AND IS NOT REPAIRABLE. IF YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO A SEAL, YOU MUST REMOVE AND REPLACE IT.

(2) Seal installation

NOTE: Remove the seal(s) from the packaging immediately before you install it (them). Make sure that you do not cause contamination of the seal(s) with chemicals or dust particles during its/their installation.

(a) Lubricant

CAUTION: USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED LUBRICANT TO LUBRICATE THE O-RINGS AND THE PACKINGS. OTHER LUBRICANTS CAN CAUSE SMOKE OR A SMELL IN THE CABIN WHEN THEY BECOME HOT.

1 For ABS5800 seals:

NOTE: Usually, no more lubrication is necessary for the seals. In areas where the installation is not easy (ducting angulation), you can apply a thin layer of lubricant. This is to hold the seal in its groove when the equipment is installed.

Apply the Synthetic Oil base Grease-Fuel and Oxidized Environment Fluorinated - (Material No.03GEE1) only on the outer diameter surface, on the full circumference.

2 For NSA8206 seals:

Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-Fuel and Oxidized Environment Fluorinated - (Material No.03GEE1) on the inner surface of the seal or on the sliding surface.

(b) To install the seal, engage it with the hardware groove. The seal is held in the groove on the outer diameter.

NOTE: You can pull a seal that is slightly too large at ambient temperature to get a correct fit in the groove.
