A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine, is in position.
   (2) On the ENG section of the maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2), is in position.

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in correct position.
   (2) Get access to the area where you must install the label, stencil, transfer or decal markings.
4. Procedure

A. Installation of Label, Stencil, Transfer or Decal Markings
WARNING: WEAR APPLICABLE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK. BEFORE YOU USE PPE, READ, UNDERSTAND AND OBEY ALL INSTRUCTIONS FOR ITS USE. THESE INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE MANUFACTURER, YOUR EMPLOYER AND GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS. YOU CAN GET INJURED IF YOU DO NOT USE PPE. GET INSTRUCTIONS FROM YOUR EMPLOYER ON WHICH PPE IS NECESSARY.
   (1) Installation of stencil markings:
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Get stencils or make stencils from 0.015 in. (0.381 mm) thick stencil board.
NOTE: You can use stencils made from 0.015 in. (0.381 mm) thick stencil board more than one time.
     (b) Clean the repair area with a clean lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) and solvent (Material No.V01-438) or solvent (Material No.V01-457) . Remove the solvent with a clean lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) before the solvent becomes dry.
     (c) Put the STENCIL - NO.3 ALTERNATE-GOTHIC STYLE in position.
     (d) Mix the paint.
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you use a color of paint that gives a contrast with the surface color.
     (e) Use a soft BRUSH - NYLON or a GUN - AIR SPRAY, STANDARD PAINT to apply one layer of paint.
     (f) Remove the STENCIL - NO.3 ALTERNATE-GOTHIC STYLE and remove the unwanted paint with cotton wool swab (Material No.V02-174) .
     (g) Cure the paint.
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
     (h) Apply a layer of clear polyurethane (Material No.V07-098) :
       1 Mix the clear polyurethane (Material No.V07-098) .
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
       2 Apply one layer of clear polyurethane (Material No.V07-098) on the marking with a soft BRUSH - NYLON. Do not use a spray gun to apply the clear polyurethane (Material No.V07-098) .
       3 Cure the clear polyurethane (Material No.V07-098) .
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
   (2) Installation of high-temperature stencil markings:
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Get stencils or make stencils from 0.015 in. (0.381 mm) thick stencil board.
NOTE: You can use stencils made from 0.015 in. (0.381 mm) thick stencil board more than one time.
     (b) Clean the repair area with a clean lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) and solvent (Material No.V01-438) or solvent (Material No.V01-457) . Remove the solvent with a clean lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) before the solvent becomes dry.
     (c) Put the STENCIL - NO.3 ALTERNATE-GOTHIC STYLE in position.
     (d) Mix the Sermatel high-temperature ink.
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you use a color of ink that gives a contrast with the surface color.
     (e) Use a soft BRUSH - NYLON to apply one layer of ink.
     (f) Remove the STENCIL - NO.3 ALTERNATE-GOTHIC STYLE and remove the unwanted ink with cotton wool swab (Material No.V02-174) .
     (g) Cure the ink.
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
   (3) Installation of transfer markings:
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Get the transfer markings.
NOTE: You can use stencil markings if you cannot get transfer markings.
     (b) Clean the repair area with a clean lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) and solvent (Material No.V01-438) or solvent (Material No.V01-457) . Remove the solvent with a clean lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) before the solvent becomes dry.
     (c) Mix one part Adhesive-Fixative Label Bonding Durofix - (Material No.05LBC1) to one part distilled or deionized water (Material No.V01-201) .
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
     (d) Put the transfer in the activator solution for 20 to 30 seconds.
     (e) Remove the wet transfer from the activator solution and put the transfer in position.
     (f) Put a SQUEEGEE in position at the center of the transfer and apply pressure on the transfer. Then move the SQUEEGEE to the edges of the transfer to remove unwanted solution and air pockets.
     (g) Use a ROLLER - RUBBER to make sure that the transfer is equally and correctly applied.
     (h) Use a SPONGE wet with distilled or deionized water (Material No.V01-201) to flush unwanted solution.
     (i) Remove the backing and clean the edges of the transfer with a SPONGE wet with distilled or deionized water (Material No.V01-201) to remove unwanted solution.
NOTE: You do not touch the transfer for two minutes before you remove the backing.
     (j) Let the transfer cure for three to four days.
NOTE: The transfer is easily damaged if it is hit by rain or touched immediately after you apply it. The transfer will have a satisfactory bond in two days. It will fully cure in three to four days.
     (k) Apply a layer of clear polyurethane (Material No.V07-098) :
       1 Mix the clear polyurethane (Material No.V07-098) .
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
       2 Apply one layer of clear polyurethane (Material No.V07-098) on the marking with a soft BRUSH - NYLON. Do not use a spray gun to apply the clear polyurethane (Material No.V07-098) .
       3 Cure the clear polyurethane (Material No.V07-098) .
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
       4 Do an adhesion test as follows:
         a Apply a 1.0 in. (25.4 mm) wide strip of masking tape (Material No.V02-178) to the transfer surface. Remove the tape in a sudden vertical movement to the surface.
   (4) Installation of decal markings:
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Lightly abrade the surface where you will install the decal and the adjacent area with scotch brite (Material No.V05-126) .
     (b) Clean the repair area with a clean lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) and solvent (Material No.V01-438) or solvent (Material No.V01-457) . Remove the solvent with a clean lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) before the solvent becomes dry.
     (c) Remove the backing paper from the decal.
     (d) Put the decal in position on the area. Use a SQUEEGEE to apply a constant pressure on the decal.
     (e) Apply layers of clear polyurethane:
       1 Mix the clear polyurethane (Material No.V07-098) .
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
       2 Use a soft BRUSH - NYLON to apply clear polyurethane (Material No.V07-098) on the decal and around the edges, with an overlap of 0.25 in. (6.3 mm) on the adjacent area.
       3 Wait for 20 minutes until the clear polyurethane becomes dry.
       4 Use a soft BRUSH - NYLON to apply clear polyurethane (Material No.V07-098) on the decal and around the edges, with an overlap of 0.25 in. (6.3 mm) on the adjacent area.
       5 Do an adhesion test as follows:
         a Apply a 1.0 in. (25.4 mm) wide strip of masking tape (Material No.V02-178) to the decal surface. Remove the tape in a sudden vertical movement to the surface.
   (5) Installation of the label plates:
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Clean the repair area and the label plate with a clean lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) and solvent (Material No.V01-438) or solvent (Material No.V01-457) . Remove the solvent with a clean lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) before the solvent becomes dry.
     (b) Mix the Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) .
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
     (c) Apply the Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) to the mating surfaces of the label plate and of the area where you will install the label plate.
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
     (d) Cure the label plate.
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
