DO NOT APPLY ADHESIVE TAPE ON THE PROBES, DUCTS, SENSORS (STATIC, PITOT, TAT, AOA). USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED TOOLS FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE SPECIFIED TOOLS:
- GIVE THE CORRECT PROTECTION TO THE AIRCRAFT EQUIPMENT,
- ARE EASY TO SEE FROM THE GROUND,
- ARE EASY TO REMOVE.

A. Safety Precautions
Subtask 11-00-00-941-068-A CAUTION:
DO NOT CUT PROTECTIVE FILMS, TAPES, MASKS OR MARKINGS ON THE AIRCRAFT SKIN BECAUSE YOU CAN CAUSE SCRIBE MARKS.
IF YOU MUST CUT THE MATERIALS ON THE AIRCRAFT, USE SCISSORS OR PUT A PLATE BETWEEN THE FILM AND THE AIRCRAFT SKIN. THE PLATE MUST HAVE A MINIMUM THICKNESS OF 0.6 MM (0.024 IN) IF IT IS MADE OF METAL AND 2 MM (0.079 IN) IF IT IS MADE OF HARD PLASTIC.
YOU CAN ALSO USE A SPECIAL CUTTER (SEE MANUFACTURER CODE 3M MARTOR - POLYPICK NO.4699).
AFTER YOU COMPLETE THE WORK, DO AN INSPECTION.

(1) Before you replace a placard or marking, always record its location or use the Airbus/vendor drawing available in AIPC chapter 11 to know the correct location for its installation.

Subtask 11-00-00-420-056-A
A. Installation of a Paint Marking
(1) Clean the area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) soaked with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
(2) Put the stencil in position on the aircraft.
(a) To make sure that you install the stencil in the correct position:
(c) Put the Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) or equivalent in position.
(3) Remove the remaining dust from the surface with Non Aqueous Cleaner-Non structural use - - (Material No.08BPA1) immediately before you apply the paint.
(4) Apply the Top Coat Polyurethane-Low VOC - External Structure (Material No.04JBA3) or Top Coat Polyurethane_- - External Structure (Material No.04JAA3) with a GUN - SPRAY or with a BRUSH - BRISTLED, FIBER, SOFT (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-12-300-003).
(5) Make sure that you keep the contrast between the color of the background paint and the marking..
(6) Remove the masking paper and tape around the stencil as quickly as possible.
(7) If necessary, apply paint where it is missing with a PAINTBRUSH.
Subtask 11-00-00-916-061-A (1) Clean the area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) soaked with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .

- Refer to the Airbus or Vendor drawing.
(c) Put the Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) or equivalent in position.
(3) Remove the remaining dust from the surface with Non Aqueous Cleaner-Non structural use - - (Material No.08BPA1) immediately before you apply the paint.
(4) Apply the Top Coat Polyurethane-Low VOC - External Structure (Material No.04JBA3) or Top Coat Polyurethane_- - External Structure (Material No.04JAA3) with a GUN - SPRAY or with a BRUSH - BRISTLED, FIBER, SOFT (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-12-300-003).
(5) Make sure that you keep the contrast between the color of the background paint and the marking..

B. Protection of the External Paint Markings (optional)
(1) If necessary, when the paint is dry, apply Varnish Polyurethane-Low VOC - External Structure (Material No.04SBA3) or Clear coat Polyurethane-Chromate Free - External Structure (Material No.04MDA3) to the whole marking area extending 10 MM (0.39 IN.) minimum around the marking surface area.
5. Close-up(1) If necessary, when the paint is dry, apply Varnish Polyurethane-Low VOC - External Structure (Material No.04SBA3) or Clear coat Polyurethane-Chromate Free - External Structure (Material No.04MDA3) to the whole marking area extending 10 MM (0.39 IN.) minimum around the marking surface area.
