3. Job Set-up
Subtask 11-00-00-110-062-A
A. Cleaning of the External Surfaces
   (1) Clean the surface with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) soaked in Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to remove all the signs of dirt.
NOTE: Do the cleaning operation until the cloth you use is clean.

B. Surface Reactivation
   (1) Before you apply the paint, make all the surfaces rough with PAD - NYLON ABRASIVE and Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
NOTE: Stop the reactivation procedure when the surface is sufficiently rough. Be careful not to remove or damage the protection of the skin or composite fibers.
NOTE: The surface on which you do the reactivation must be wet, but it is possible to rub a dry surface if a vacuum cleaning device is available to remove the dust when you have rubbed the surface.
   (2) If necessary, remove the remaining sealant with CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 220 - 240).
   (3) Lightly rub the screw or rivet rows to remove all the black signs.
   (4) Make the surface rough by hand:
  • for all the areas to which it is not possible to get access with the sanding machine
  • if there is a risk of damage when you use the machine (overlaping sheet metal junctions, window and windshield frames, antenna supports, fuselage area behind the radome).
   (5) Use an BRUSH - WIRE, ROTARY to clean the areas with round head rivets.

C. Final Cleaning and Wiping
   (1) Rinse the surfaces you have rubbed with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) then wipe with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) before the cleaning agent evaporates.
   (2) Lightly wipe again all the upper sections of the aircraft (fuselage above the windows, upper surface wings) with PAD - ABRASIVE before application of the wash primer.
4. Procedure

A. Application of Identification and Marking Paints
   (1) Apply a coat of paint and then a cross paint.
NOTE: The time between the last cleaning operation and the application of paint must not be more than 4 hours.

   (1) Apply a Varnish Polyurethane-Low VOC - External Structure (Material No.04SBA3) on all exterior functional and maintenance markings.
