1. Reason for the Job
The list of all actions and their application conditions to be completed for a return to operation after a storage period is included in AMM TASK 10-30-00-554-005 (Return to Operation After a Storage Period).
This checklist must be used to do a double check of some specific actions done during AMM TASK 10-30-00-554-005 (Return to Operation After a Storage Period).

A. Checklist for the Return to Operation After a Storage Period
NOTE: Some maintenance actions are related to the duration of the storage period.
NOTE: All the details related to each step are given in (Ref. AMM TASK 10-30-00-554-005).
   (1) Make sure that you did all these maintenance actions:
     (a) Ditching:
  • DITCHING pushbutton switch release.
     (b) Fire Protection (Engine / APU / Cargo Compartment / Lavatory / Portable):
  • Operational test of the fire extinguishing systems
  • Check of the fire-extinguishing distribution-piping
  • Check of the LP indicating circuits
  • Check of the lavatory and portable fire-extinguishing bottles.
     (c) Fuel System:
  • Sample fuel for microbiological contamination analysis
  • Operational test of the LP fuel shutoff-valves of the engine and APU
  • Operational test of the crossfeed valves.
     (d) Hydraulic System:
  • Hydraulic fluid analysis
  • Check of the hydraulic filters for clogging.
     (e) Landing Gears:
  • General Visual Inspection (GVI) of all landing gears
  • Lubrication of all landing gears and doors
  • Charge pressure check of all landing gear shock-absorbers
  • Functional tests of the normal extension-retraction and free fall extension
  • Functional tests of the nose wheel steering.
     (f) Wheels, tires and brakes:
  • Wheel replacements
  • GVI of the wheels, tires and brakes
  • Tire pressure check and nitrogen refilling
  • Functional test of the brake accumulator system
  • Operational checks of the parking, normal and alternate braking systems
  • BITE test of the Braking and Steering Control Unit (BSCU).
     (g) Flight Controls:
  • Lubrication tasks and fluid level checks
  • Cleaning and protection of the flight control cables
  • Detailed inspection of the flap/slat transmission assembly
  • Operational tests of the spoiler, aileron, elevator and rudder hydraulic-actuation systems
  • Operational tests of the flap, slat and Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer (THS) actuator systems.
     (h) Engines and APU:
  • APU de-preservation
  • Engine de-preservation.
     (i) Bleed Air system:
  • High power operational test of the bleed air system.
     (j) Probes and Sensors:
  • Inspection/check of the pitot probes, static ports, Total Air Temperature (TAT) sensors and Angle of Attack (AOA) sensors
  • Functional check of the heater insulation resistance of the pitot probes
  • Flushing of the total pressure lines and static pressure lines
  • Draining and flushing of the standby static and standby total pressure-lines
  • Installation of the aircraft protection equipment.
