DO NOT APPLY ADHESIVE TAPE ON THE PROBES, DUCTS, SENSORS (STATIC, PITOT, TAT, AOA). USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED TOOLS FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE SPECIFIED TOOLS:
- GIVE THE CORRECT PROTECTION TO THE AIRCRAFT EQUIPMENT,
- ARE EASY TO SEE FROM THE GROUND,
- ARE EASY TO REMOVE.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE PROBES ON THE GROUND. THE PROBES CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME AND WILL BURN YOU.

- Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
- Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control lever is in the OFF position.
- Make sure that the PROBE/WINDOW HEAT pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
- To tell persons that the protection covers/devices on the probes are installed.
- On the CAPT side stick to tell the crew that the protection covers/devices are installed and not to operate the systems.

MAKE SURE THAT THE PROBES, THE ENGINE AND THE APU ARE COOL BEFORE INSTALLATION OF THE PROTECTIVE DEVICES. IF THE PROBES ARE HOT, THERE IS A RISK OF INJURY AND THE PROTECTIVE DEVICES CAN MELT.
(1) Protection of the 2 total temperature sensors - Put the 98A10001013000 COVER-TOTAL TEMP SENSOR in position.
- Put the 98A10001005000 COVER-PITOT PROBE in position.
- Put the 98A10001500000 COVER-SLIP ON,ANGLE OF ATTACK SENSOR in position.
- Put the 98D10103500001 COVER-STATIC PROBE in position.
- Put the 98D10103501000 COVER - ICE DETECTION PROBE in position.

- Put the IAE1N20008 COVER-COMMON NOZZLE in position.

(1) Protection of the engine air intakes- Put the RSE1114 COVER BLANKING ENGINE AIR INTAKE or 98D10003000000 COVER-INLET COWL ENGINE in position.
- Put the RSE1132 COVER - COMMON NOZZLE in position.

- Put the RSE1132 COVER - COMMON NOZZLE in position.

(1) Protection of the engine air intakes - Put the 636-1100-4GSE INLET COWL LIP COVER in position.
- Put the 636-4000-23GSE EXHAUST COVER in position.
- Put the 636-3000-11GSE TR C DUCT COVER in position.

- Put the 636-4000-23GSE EXHAUST COVER in position.
- Put the 636-3000-11GSE TR C DUCT COVER in position.

(1) Protection of the APU exhaust duct - Put the 98D10007512000 COVER-EXHAUST DUCT,APU in position.
- Put the 98D10007513000 COVER-OILCOOLER OUTLET,APU in position.
