2. Fuel Level Sensors Operating (Changeover) Values

The fuel values in the table below are nominal and given as a guide only.
This is because of:
  • the fuel density variations possible (the values shown are at standard density)
  • the different aircraft attitudes possible
  • the tolerances in the FQIS used to get the fuel amounts
  • the mechanical tolerances
  • the alternative dry bay configurations on early aircraft
  • the time delays and tolerances in the FLSS.
NOTE: The fuel quantities shown refer to:
  • the Center Tank for 20QJ, 21QJ, and 22QJ
  • the Inner Cell for all other sensors.

ACT Fuel Level Sensors Operating (Changeover) Values

Each ACT fuel probe have one FQIS capacitive sensor, and two FLSS thermistor (Resistance Temperature Detector - RTD) sensors together in one LRU.

For the ACT Tank Units DC Capacitance Values see Chap. 28-42-00, P. Block 301.

The fuel values in the table below are nominal and given as a guide only.
This is because of:
  • the fuel density variations possible (the values shown are for a fuel with a standard density of 0.8)
  • the different aircraft attitudes possible
  • the tolerances in the FQIS used to get the fuel quantities
  • the 10.0 kg (20.0 lb) resolution (increments) of the FQI digital display
  • the mechanical tolerances
  • the time delays and tolerances in the FLSS.
NOTE: There is no automatic FQIC controlled FLSS BITE done on the ACT level sensors.
NOTE: The ACT level sensor channel states in FLSCU-3 (47QJ) are not monitored by the FQIC, and therefore not shown on the CFDS FUEL - INPUT PARAMETER Page 3.
NOTE: The ACT HI LVL lamp (on the ACT REFUEL panel) shows the high level sensors operating/changeover point in relation to the ACT FQI.

3. Fuel Temperature Level Sensors Operating (Changeover) Values

The fuel temperature level sensors:
  • are part of the FLSS
  • give inputs to the IDG cooling control system to indicate the fuel is above or below a predetermined temperature value as shown in the table below.

The fuel temperatures can be obtained from either:
  • the CFDS(FUEL), FQIS INPUT PARAMETERS (Page 1) shown as INNTEMP and OUTTEMP
  • the Lower Ecam Display (System Display) switched to FUEL.
NOTE: The fuel temperatures shown will have a close relationship to the aircrafts recent transit/local air temperature, and conditions.
To observe the working of the Fuel System via the CFDS(FUEL), INPUT PARAMETERS pages in real time the pages must be continually updated.
Do this by cycling the pages using the NEXT PAGE control on the MCDU.
If this procedure is not adopted the pages STATE, 0 or 1, and fuel temperatures shown will remain as they were at the time of the page (menu option) selection.

The fuel temperature level sensors:
  • are part of the FLSS
  • give inputs to the IDG cooling control system to indicate the fuel is above or below a predetermined temperature value as shown in the table below.

The fuel temperatures can be obtained from either:
  • the CFDS(FUEL), FQIS INPUT PARAMETERS (Page 1) shown as UCMP T (CTR and RIGHT) and, TEMP (LEFT and RIGHT)
  • the Lower Ecam Display (System Display) switched to FUEL.
NOTE: The fuel temperatures shown will have a close relationship to the aircrafts recent transit/local air temperature, and conditions.
The INPUT PARAMETER pages (only) are automatically updated, without request from the CFDS, once every 5.5 seconds.
