Outside VHF coverage:

ATC datalink communications (ADS-C, CPDLC, DCL, OCL, and D-ATIS) are not available.
Associated ATC datalink Required Communication / Surveillance Performance (RCP 240 for CPDLC and RSP 180 for ADS-C) capabilities are lost.
As an alternate procedure, ATC may permit the use of voice communication on alternate route that does not require FANS A aircraft capability.
