Establish
cockpit to ground communications for the following procedure.
- REFUEL PANEL DOOROPEN
The refuel panel door
must be open to check the operation of the manual transfer.
If the center tank is full:
- ACT pb-swCHECK AUTO
- TEST swSELECT AND MAINTAIN HI. LVL
Manual fuel transfer
from the ACT(s) to the center tank is usually performed
with the center tank not full (center tank high level sensor dry).
Therefore, if the center tank is full, keeping selected the TEST sw on the refuel/defuel control panel overrides the high level sensor.
| CAUTION: | When the ACT pb-sw is set to FWD, fuel may spill out from the center tank
to the left surge tank. Once manual fuel transfer is checked operative,
set immediately the ACT pb-sw to AUTO. Otherwise,
fuel may spill out from the left tank. |

Manual fuel transfer
is checked operative when one of the following occurs:
- The ACT to center tank fuel transfer indication is fully green
- The fuel quantity of one ACT decreases (ACT 1, or (If Installed) ACT 2 if not empty).
- ACT pb-swAUTO
- TEST swRELEASE
- REFUEL PANEL DOORCLOSE
- 30 min AFTER TAKEOFF
- ACT pb-swFWD
- FUEL SD PageMONITOR
Check that the fuel
is transferred from the ACTs to the center tank.
If necessary perform a descent
to 270 FL.
When ACT (both ACTs if two ACTs installed) is empty:
- ACT pb-swAUTO
