- Before engine start
If the IDG 1(2) associated with the inoperative AC main generation 1(2) has been disconnected:
Check that the DISC message is displayed on the ELEC SD Page.

If OAT is at or below -40 °C,
Check on the ENG SD Page that oil temperature is at or above 60 °C.
If the IDG 1(2) associated with the inoperative AC main generation 1(2) has been disconnected:
Check on the FUEL SD Page that the associated inner/wing tank fuel temperature is above -30 °C.
- During the flight
If the IDG 1(2) associated with the inoperative AC main generation 1(2) has been disconnected:
Monitor the fuel temperature. If needed, descend and/or accelerate in order to maintain the fuel temperature at or above -43 °C.
If fuel additives are used, the inner/wing tank fuel temperature must not be less than -45 °C before takeoff and during the flight, instead of -30 °C before take off and -43 °C in flight.
Approved FSII (Fuel System Ice Inhibitors) additives are (in a concentration between 0.10% and 0.15% by volume):
  • Diethylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether (DiEGME) conforming to MIL-DTL-85470.
  • Russian additive "I" (Ethylene Glycol Monoethyl Ether)
  • Russian additive "I-M"
