The alert is confirmed to be false by
troubleshooting, and
2)
The associated filter is replaced before
the first MMEL dispatch and then every 150 flight hours,
and
3)
The associated magnetic chip detectors
are inspected when the filter is replaced and do not reveal the presence
of chips.

The associated ENG 1(2) OIL CHIP DETECTED was not displayed on the EWD during the previous
flight.
