BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Start the Engine:
(2) After engine start cycle, position the pneumatic starter valve manually in closed position (clockwise).
5. Close-upWARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE LENGTH OF THE SQUARE DRIVE EXTENSION THAT YOU USE IS SUFFICIENT TO STAY AT A SAFE DISTANCE FROM THE START AIR MOTOR.
USE PROTECTIVE GLOVES AND GOGGLES.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, HOT AIR FROM THE START AIR MOTOR CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO THIS PROCEDURE. THE AIRFLOW CAN BE HOT AND HOT AIR CAN CAUSE BURNS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT OPERATE THE MANUAL HANDLE OF THE PNEUMATIC STARTER VALVE IF THE STARTER SYSTEM IS NOT PRESSURIZED. IF YOU DO, DAMAGE TO THE PNEUMATIC STARTER VALVE CAN OCCUR.
(1) Start the engine by operating manually the pneumatic starter valve through the access door with WRENCH - RATCHET (3/8 IN) equipped with a EXTENSION.(2) After engine start cycle, position the pneumatic starter valve manually in closed position (clockwise).

(1) Install WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons that the pneumatic starter valve system does not operate.
(2) Tell the crew to make an entry in the log book to record the position of the pneumatic starter valve.
