Installation of the Scavenge Filter Differential Pressure Switch

WARNING: DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH THE OIL FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY.

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.

CAUTION: DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH THE OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

Subtask 79-35-16-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010)

C. Clean these parts
(1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with cleaning fluid (Material No.V01-002) to clean these parts:
(a) The bolts.
(b) The unions.
(c) The mounting bracket.
(d) The electrical connector.
(e) The connection of the oil tubes.

4. Procedure
Subtask 79-35-16-210-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Remove all the covers/caps/plugs from the openings.
(1) Install the union and the scavenge filter:
(2) Examine the mounting bracket, the oil tubes, the electrical connector, the bolts and the unions and make sure that they have no damage.

Subtask 79-35-16-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

B. Install the unions
(1) Install new AIPC 79-35-16-80-020 PACKING (2) and AIPC 79-35-16-80-020 PACKING (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) to the unions (3) and (8).
(2) Attach the unions to the switch (5).
(3) TORQUE the unions to between 145 and 135 lbf.in (1.64 and 1.53 m.daN )

(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(4) Install the scavenge filter differential-pressure switch
(a) Put the switch (5) in position on the bracket.
(b) Attach the switch with the bolts (1).
(c) TORQUE the switch bolts to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )

(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(5) Connect the oil tubes
(a) Connect the oil tubes (4) and (9) to the switch.
(b) TORQUE the oil tube nuts to between 145 and 135 lbf.in (1.64 and 1.53 m.daN )

(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(6) Connect the electrical connector (6) to the switch (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010).

5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010)

(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
