Installation of the Pressure Oil Filter Element


WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION: DO NOT PUT OIL THAT HAS BEEN DRAINED FROM THE ENGINE BACK IN TO THE OIL SYSTEM.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH THE OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

Subtask 79-21-44-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010)
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 79-21-44-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Pressure Oil Filter
   (1) Remove all the covers from the openings.
   (2) Install the new AIPC 79-21-44-80-050 PACKING (6) on the filter cover (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010):
     (a) Lubricate the new packing (6) with the V10-077lubricant (engine oil).
     (b) Install the packing (6) on the cover (5).
   (3) Install the filter element (7) into the oil filter housing (1).
   (4) Install the cover:
     (a) Install the cover (5) on the oil filter housing (1).
     (b) Install the six nuts (3) with the washers (2) to attach the cover to the oil filter housing (1).
     (c) TORQUE the nuts (3) to between 95 and 85 lbf.in (1.07 and 0.96 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).

PRE SBE 79-0101
   (5) Install the priming valve (10) and nut (4).
     (a) Install the new AIPC 79-21-44-80-070 PACKING (8) onto the priming valve (10).
     (b) Install the priming valve (10).
     (c) TORQUE the priming valve (10) to between 71 and 53 lbf.in (0.80 and 0.60 m.daN )
T.
     (d) Install the nut (4) on the cover (5).
     (e) TORQUE the nut (4) to between 71 and 53 lbf.in (0.80 and 0.60 m.daN )
T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
     (f) Safety the priming valve (10) and nut (4).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       1 Safety the priming valve (10) and nut (4) with the corrosion resistant steel lockwire (Material No.V02-119) .

POST SBE 79-0101
   (6) Install the plug:
     (a) Install a new AIPC 79-21-44-80-070 PACKING (8) and the plug (9) on the oil filter assembly cover (5).
     (b) TORQUE the plug (9) to between 71 and 53 lbf.in (0.80 and 0.60 m.daN )
T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
     (c) Safety the plug.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       1 Safety the plug (9) with the corrosion resistant steel lockwire (Material No.V02-119) .

B. Fill the engine oil system as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-011).

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
447AL 448AR.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

B. Do an idle leak check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-012)or do a dry motor leak check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-045)
