Subtask 78-36-41-941-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position on the right side of the engine.

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position on the right side of the engine.

A. Fasten all Latches
Subtask 78-36-41-820-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
ALL LOCATING PINS MUST BE IN FULL CONTACT WITH BUSHINGS OR DAMAGE COULD OCCUR TO REVERSER.
(1) Make sure of the full contact between each bushing and locating pin. B. Adjustment of the Thrust Reverser Half Door Latches with a Push Gage
(2) Remove the screw which attach the lockwasher.
(3) Remove the lockwasher.
(4) Tighten with your hand the latch tension nut and put it in a position which permits the installation of the lockwasher.
(5) Measure the force on the latch handle tip with the DYNAMOMETER 14 TO 19 DAN ( 30.27 TO 41.09 LBF) - PUSH which is necessary to lock it.
(6) The recorded force must be between 14 daN (31.5 lbf) to 19 daN (42.7 lbf).
(7) If the recorded force is not within tolerances turn the latch tension nut to obtain the force indicated.
(9) TORQUE the screw to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
.
(10) Adjust the three other latches with the same procedure step 1 to step 9.
(11) Do a check of each latch from the front to the rear. The force applied on the latch handle tip must be between 14 daN (31.5 lbf) to 19 daN (42.7 lbf).
5. Close-upNOTE: You must apply this procedure after the installation of a complete thrust reverser or after changing a reverser half door on the aircraft.
(1) Open the forward latch. (2) Remove the screw which attach the lockwasher.
(3) Remove the lockwasher.
(4) Tighten with your hand the latch tension nut and put it in a position which permits the installation of the lockwasher.
(5) Measure the force on the latch handle tip with the DYNAMOMETER 14 TO 19 DAN ( 30.27 TO 41.09 LBF) - PUSH which is necessary to lock it.
(6) The recorded force must be between 14 daN (31.5 lbf) to 19 daN (42.7 lbf).
(7) If the recorded force is not within tolerances turn the latch tension nut to obtain the force indicated.
NOTE: Turn the tension nut by twelth of a turn to keep the position which permits the installation of the lockwasher.
(8) Install the lockwasher and screw which attach the latch tension nut. (9) TORQUE the screw to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
. (10) Adjust the three other latches with the same procedure step 1 to step 9.
(11) Do a check of each latch from the front to the rear. The force applied on the latch handle tip must be between 14 daN (31.5 lbf) to 19 daN (42.7 lbf).

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040).
