Subtask 78-36-41-860-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):

(2) Make sure that the right thrust reverser cowl door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-040):

A. Installation of the Cowl Latches
(a) Install the latches.
(b) Install the axes and nuts.
(c) Tighten until clearance between nut and structure is from 0.05 mm (0.002 in.) to 0.23 mm (0.01 in.).
(d) Secure with new AIPC 78-36-41-01-080 COTTER PIN (20) or AIPC 78-36-41-01-080 COTTER PIN (10).
(2) Install the aft latch:
(a) Position the latch on the door.

(b) Install the axe and nut.
(c) Tighten until clearance between nut and structure is from 0.05 mm (0.002 in.) to 0.23 mm (0.01 in.).
(d) Secure with new AIPC 78-36-41-01-080 COTTER PIN (10) .
(e) Install the access door and secure with bolt.
(f) TORQUE bolt to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )

(g) Install the pin.
(h) Install the bracket and secure with bolt.
(i) TORQUE bolt to between 40 and 30 lbf.in (0.45 and 0.34 m.daN )

5. Close-upNOTE: Apply a witness line of finish paint EA4 blue 5991 (Material No.CP2245) all nuts and connections when you have done the check of their torques.
(1) Install the forward and middle latches: (a) Install the latches.
(b) Install the axes and nuts.
(c) Tighten until clearance between nut and structure is from 0.05 mm (0.002 in.) to 0.23 mm (0.01 in.).
(d) Secure with new AIPC 78-36-41-01-080 COTTER PIN (20) or AIPC 78-36-41-01-080 COTTER PIN (10).
(2) Install the aft latch:
(a) Position the latch on the door.

(c) Tighten until clearance between nut and structure is from 0.05 mm (0.002 in.) to 0.23 mm (0.01 in.).
(d) Secure with new AIPC 78-36-41-01-080 COTTER PIN (10) .
(e) Install the access door and secure with bolt.
(f) TORQUE bolt to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )

(g) Install the pin.
(h) Install the bracket and secure with bolt.
(i) TORQUE bolt to between 40 and 30 lbf.in (0.45 and 0.34 m.daN )

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the right thrust reverser cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-040):
